A lot of 'British Indian' dishes are the same, or similar, to Indian dishes, as they were introduced to Britain by people moving to Britain from the Indian subcontinent. Britain has a large population of people whose origins are in India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. A few dishes do originate from Britain though. Old football used to be contested between two towns with the town gates being the goals, it could last for days and sometimes weeks and was usually a massive brawl as there was no rules back then
@24magiccarrot
@24magiccarrot Жыл бұрын
Old football had a variety of rules as the term originally applied to several games played on foot as opposed to horseback, so could be in reference to a game that the hands are used or kicking, it was essentially just a generic term for ball sport. Some games would have rules that would vary from town to town or playground to playground and other games would just be outright brawls.

To clarify - That's 'history' and the flag can be referred to as the Union Jack wherever and whenever it is flown, to quote The Flag Institute; "The national flag of the United Kingdom, the Crown Dependencies and Overseas Territories is the Union Flag, which may also be called the Union Jack". This question was even brought up in Parliament in 1908 when it was stated that "the Union Jack should be regarded as the National flag".

Hi guys. Big Ben is neither the clock or the tower. big Ben is the bell. the tower is named after the late queen. The Elizabeth tower after her diamond jubilee in 2012. I really hate that when people get it wrong or don't do any research on London. From 🇬🇧👍 an old cockney gal

I'm in a contrary mood and have had a few glasses of Malbec so excuse me for the following but do you really hate people not knowing that, or is it more accurate to say you enjoy informing people who would otherwise understanably either not know due to geographic location, or not care due to it having little to no effect on their life? Sorry, I'm really nice in person.

And to clarify... 'Big Ben' is the largest and heaviest (main) bell of the 5 in the belfry. The other 4 are quarter bells, named the 'first', 'second', 'third' and 'fourth quarter' bells.

Vote Leave was founded in October 2015 by political strategists Matthew Elliott and Dominic Cummings as a cross-party campaign. It involved Members of Parliament from the Conservative Party, Labour Party and the sole UKIP MP, Douglas Carswell along with MEP Daniel Hannan and Conservative peer Lord Lawson. Labour MP Gisela Stuart served as chairman and Leader of the Vote Leave Campaign Committee as Co-Convenor with Michael Gove MP, of the Conservatives. BTW turn off caps lock you loud mouthed moron.

Originally, Welsh meant "foreigner" in English (well, Old English). Edit: Correction on the curry thing; India does have native curries. Lots of them, in fact. It's specifically tikka masala that's a UK creation. Tikka itself comes from India, but the non-dry version was invented by an Indian chef working in the UK. There are some other dishes that are British-Indian rather than Indian - an example of this would be vindaloo. Vindaloo **is** a Goan dish, but the British vindaloo is massively spicier, and makes use of some ingredients that wouldn't be considered for the dish in Goa. British-Indian is considered widely considered a regional Indian cuisine to go along with those found within India itself.

Probably the most random fact to take issue with but there is a flag associated with Northern Ireland (Ulster[not making any inference here just giving the other name]) it is like the English flag just with a red hand in the middle and is used mostly on TV when a sports team representing Northern Ireland is taking part in some kind of competition. Also I am a Scottish Aberdeen FC supporter, but support the other footballing rival of Aberdeen FC rivals(if yer ken yer ken) as well: I always assumed that the Saltire's design was to do with the martyrdom of Saint Andrew with the shape if the cross he was crucified on but could be wrong there though never heard the video's explanation before.
