This is very interesting... I just moved to a commission structure with my guys and have watched my revenue per employee 4X yoy. I'm trying to figure out how this would apply to me. I like people having a vested interest in the success of the company so I can imagine a bonus based on company performance. Can you imagine a scenario where this would not work???

Hey Nathan, for our commission only team members, we use an equation almost identical to the one you saw in this video. Our commission only team members still come to our team meetings, so their "bonuses" are still reliant on... their department hitting their targets, the company hitting our targets, and them hitting their targets. Glad to hear you've seen a 4x increase - it's been a huge asset for us too when used properly (in Sales positions, as well as in some PR and Marketing positions).

@@ChrisGuerriero this is great advice! I'm going to go back and look at our comp structure and put a plan together for this!

All this is great except when top management sets an unrealistic target for the company (which is very easy to do) and then doesn’t hit this target. Eventually the employees end up with the unrealistic target which will never “allow” them to get their promised raise of x% - hence saving the company money under this arrangement
