Everyone keeps waiting / thinking that Wolves opponents are going to "show up"... but, so far, the Suns/Nuggets haven't. Maybe the narrative is the the Wolves have just taken the will/soul out of their opponents by their consistent, and relentless, defense for 48 minutes and their opponents have nothing left.

The Wolves size walled off Jokic while their perimeter length jailed Murray revealing the Nuggets true weakness. They do not have any ball handling and down hill penetration left. KCP, Gordan and MPJ cannot create their own offense. They are exhaust valves offensively on different spots on the floor and are outstanding role players. As soon as you increase their usage they are deer in headlights. Jokic and Murray could not create advantages so their offense completely collapsed and they are not large enough down the roster to matchup with the Wolves who are bigger, longer, faster at every position. No 2 man game, no rebounding advantage and then on defense, Jokic is a turn style this year. Put it all together and you get Murray throwing heat packs on the floor and Jokic dreaming about horse and buggies

I can’t believe I’m saying this but the team isn’t good enough. It’s crazy but they need another ball handler and do it all Bruce Brown last year was that forward who could handle a little bit. Need to replace that role and stop messing around with Peyton.

@@chalnervassor9430 I think I have to agree. I’m a lakers fan so I’m well aware of how good Denver is. However, I saw a LOT of slippage from the Nuggets this year, especially against the lakers in the first round. Their defense has gone down a level while the lakers have improved offensively. AD and Bron sliced and diced Denver all series but lost on the margins every game. Now it’s obvious that if you match Denver’s size you really take away most of their advantages forcing them into tough shot making and execution. Last year McDaniels was injured, Walker wasn’t on the team, and Reid and Ant weren’t as good. Flip that and combine it with an awful and hampered Murray, an aloof Jokic, less depth, no Bruce Brown and awful defense, you get GM 2

@@Edd_LShore that’s not true lol. He’s not your classic rim protector or a great defensive player, but he was much better last year. He at least blocked off the paint and was active with his hands getting deflections. Now dude is a 300lb traffic cone.

The Nuggets didn't just roll over it was Minnesotas defense that crushed them they are just that good and most analysts are havinga hard time accepting it. That defense by the Timberwolves was the best I've ever seen in my life. The Nuggest are finished and the Timberwolves are winning the championship. The Nuggets had a total temper tantrum because they had absolutely no idea what to do.

You gotta be a wolves fan or someone who don't watch basketball to think the nuggets are playing their best and wolves are just stomping them. That's not happening. Watch the replay, nuggets aren't doing anything they did last year. Rotations are sloppy, everyone's trying to get their shot instead of trusting the pass and these dudes are straight up GIVING UP. I watched the mvp of the league catch KAT and frickin SLOMO in a postup iso AND NOT EVEN TRY THEM. Just straight up PASSED OUT. One time kcp gave it to Jokic 2x and he GAVE UP. All due respect to the wolves, if they didn't hammer them like that and get a good whistle the nuggets wouldn't have collapsed like that but the reality is Nuggets ain't got that edge they had last year AT ALL.

Jamal can't buy a bucket and Jokic does NOT look like Jokic. He's a dang traffic cone on defense. It's EMBARASSING! And it's not just the wolves (though all respect) because they were doing that same weak stuff against the Lakers but Lakers didn't have the talent to capitalize.

Nuggets are TRYING to play their best basketball, but are unable to because MN has the best defense in the league BY FAR and are able to take away their 2nd 3rd and 4th options. WE WANT JOKER TO SHOOT EVERY SHOT and he knows that. I don't think you understand that. It's literally the Timberwolves game plan. He can score 50 per night, but if we shut down everyone else he's doomed. He NEEDS to get his teammates involved. That's what has made Denver good over the past two years.

They shut down the MVP. Not had an “unusual” game. Not had a poor stat line but a lot of impact. Not sat back and let the role players cook. Jokic, the best player in world tried and was shut down. Best team performance in the last 15 years.

Yeah. Murray is not hurt. It's been used as an excuse right now. Towns came back 2 weeks early to make it for the playoffs off an mcl surgery. He has just played his 8th game back from that. So i aint listening to no Murray excuses. Also, Denver bested us last season in playoffs but you didnt say oh denver won but they best a MN team with no Naz and no Jaden. They were still the champs regardless. So i feel zero sympothy for them.

I told my boy about the play where Murray was trapped: "At first it looked like solid defense. Then, in the midst of Kendrick v Drake, it looked like a light-skinned brotha getting picked on." On a serious note, its hard to see anyone left stopping the Wolves if they bring that defense every game. OKC probably has the best chance since they do a lot of damage in transition.

Denver is limited bottom line. Subpar bench, both stars playing poorly simultaneously, & other starters can’t create their own shots. Think about it: Jokic helps his team win with historic Triple-Double numbers or 40+ piece, but he did neither in 2 games. Murray is not going to average 30+pts with 3 long , athletic guards hounding him all game. Where is all the scoring gonna come from if not those 2 ppl? When AG takes more 3’s than everybody else, you got a big problem. No more easy dunks or put backs with 2 7 footers beneath the basket. MPJ and KCP don’t have opportunities to take shots that alone make them unless on the court. Denver doesn’t play Deandre Jordan at all even though they need some size. How can they get rebounds (defensive or second chance) when Jokic subs out or how can Joker get rest without front court backup. Denver played behind almost the entire series to an inferior play-in Lakers team. Defensively: Jokic nor AG can stop KAT and Reid. KCP not stopping Ant from his 25+pts. Denver will need to change style of play to a faster pace to beat Minn. Run& gun fast-break offense like OKC or Indiana style is optimal to counter bruising half-court defense. Not sure 🤔 Denver has necessary personnel to accomplish that.

Nuggets are done. Timberwolves win game 3 by double digits. They don’t have to play nearly as well as they did in game 2 to win by 10+ in game 3. It might be close in the first half but eventually that defense will wear on Denver and Minnesota will end up winning convincingly. They are just flat out better.

Refs were allowing a lot in those forst two games. They basically let Minnesota play football. Thats fine but thats not how games have been officiated the past few years and nugs werent ready for that at all. That style really gives Minnesota the advantage. Sure nugs should have adapted and yes Minnesota is playing great. Murray didnt practice all week and nugs are really missing bruce and jeff in this series.

3-0 run possibly 4-0 run....there is a reason why only a one in a lifetime type of player who is 7 ft plays point like Steve Nash/Magic, stretch big with above average 3FG, small/power foward like Bird/Luka, can center post pivots like Hakeem & Mchale, mini hooks version of Kareem, as big in fundamentals as Tim Ducan. @@Edd_LShore let's review the records real quick Timberwolves are one and one against the Celtics this season the Dallas Mavericks are 0 and 2 against us this season and the OKC Thunder are 1-1 against us this season, the only team with a winning record against us this season in the Western Conference that's still in the playoffs was the nuggets that's the only team that's in the western conference right now that I can say beyond a shadow of a doubt that could or has the best chance at beating us in a seven-game series when we are fully healthy : and also Drew holiday is way better than Marcus Smart ever was for us yeah you can say he got that defensive player of the year but you can also say that jrue holiday was robbed that year that Marcus Smart wanted yeah Marcus Smart was the heart and soul of our team but he was also the guy that took the most idiotic shots at the end of a game and screwed us out of so many wins so at the end of the day you can keep saying holiday sucks but it don't change the fact that that's a bald-faced lie
