Yep. I cheated on the math, though, as I just looked at the Pool builder's receipt!!😀 Seriously, though, good video. As you said, if you don't know your pool's size, you won't know how much of any given pool chemical that you'll need.

That website does not calculate anything. It tells you how, but you can't enter any dimensions. I tried to find where, but you just can't.

Thank you for the video, its very well explained. Im a little confused, when measuring the irregular pool, do i take the full length twice in my calculation when i add the 2 halves. Thanks in advance

what about if you have a pool that is a rectangle but has rounded off corners, or rather, a rounded rectangle?

I would just treat that as a rectangle pool.

I thought with round and oval pools, you are to measure @5.9 and not 7.48..?

Love your videos they have been a great help. Just wanted to let you know your pool volume calculator for round pools on your website is not correct. I followed the math on your website and it's correct unfortunately the calculator gives you a completely different answer. My pool according to the math should be 4626 gallons (15' x 3.5' round pool) your calculator on your website says 3974 gallons. You should look into this. :)

For the irregular shaped pools, especially for the pool steps, slopes, and pool benches, why not just measure how many seconds it take your backyard hose at full pressure to fill up a 1-55 gallon container? Once you have that time figured out, try to identify the gallon per minute ratio and then start filling up your pool and do the math when you are complete.

That's a good idea. Which is what I do after I replace the liner in someones Pool. Most people don't think about the amount of water they have in their pools until they take their first water sample to their local pool store. When they ask "how many gallons is your pool, or what is the size of your pool?" 40-50% of the people in my area don't even the size of their pools. lol

in your pool volume calculations I think you forgot an important point! All calculation MUST be in the type,. All in inches or all in feet. My pool is 18 feet round, BUT 53 inches deep. For you equation I should convert the 53 inches to feet so it works with the 7.5 gallons of water per "CUBIC FEET" of volume.
