Im sure alot of people will appreciate this breakdown. It's still akot of money, but it shows you can have a decent sq ft house for around $10M. I know these builders have to make a profit, but geez its too much for most, and they seem to put in the cheapest finishes. Congratulations on your home!

We are currently constructing our dreamhouse and the prices stated here sound somewhat similar...so far. The cost...2.5 mil to 3.5 sounds about right for a similar sized house. It is scarily expensive to build in Jamaica. We've captured some of these costs over on our channel, Under Construction...it's so good to know we're not buffoons 😅😂😂

It is always a good idea to have an Electrician on your team from early especially since an Electrical Plan is needed for Electrical Inspection and getting your certificate of compliance for JPS.... Please dont cast the floor before engaging an Electrician...

Buy a cement mixer and a steel rebar tie gun, Dry stack the blocks no mortar with steel rebar. Mix and pour cement in the hole of the blocks. No showel need, the cement bag has instructions how to mix, cement mixer needed

You would have to pay them for their time and effort and all the travel back and forth, same as just hiring a reputable builder in the first place. One thing you can do is hire the architect who drew your plans or the structural engineer who drew your structural plans, whichever of them is local to St. James, to oversee your build and confirm what's being built is what was drawn and to the structural engineering standards.

Building in JA is extremely cheap!!!! You estimates is approximately US$52 per sqft in Antigua you are looking at approximately US$100 per sqft

Nah it's about $100 USD per square foot too build in Jamaica, and by my calculations your exchange rate is way off, it's not $52 per square foot in this build in their video, it's about $67 USD/sq ft IF being your own general contractor like they are doing. So those who don't have their expertise to do things themselves or are not even on the island should go ahead and expect about $100 USD/sq ft to build with a builder. More if super fancy with the finishes or large home or both.
