Ive had a few decorators over the years who told me college is a waste of time, its always the 1's who didn't go!! I got distinctions in practical, written & exams & very proud of it. Keep up the hard work, after 35yrs in the game, im still learning, every days a school day mate!!!

Hi Phil. Just to say thanks for all your hard work and sharing your skills. As a sole trader Decorator, it can be a lonely job. In as much as I have nobody to discuss what the best water based gloss is. You inspire me to be a better decorator and tackle a few technical issues that I have kind of, by luck, gotten away with. Especially with regards to tricky wallpapering cuts. When I get stuck and ask 'what would Jesus do'; I will now ask 'what would Phil do'. Jesus is for carpentry problems anyway.

@@ProfessionalPainterDecorator I've learnt over the years decorators like us are s dying breed. I am from a family of decorators grandfather, father, uncles, sister, nephews and my son. We are actually putting a young woman through college and teaching her the right way to do the job right. There are plenty of painters, but decorators are rare. Keep up the excellent pods, your a credit to our trade and I really wish you all the best and hope you eventually make good money from it, you've earnt it. I would of loved to have worked with you, I appreciate quality and you have that in abundance. It's a great channel Phil. Personally I'm always disappointed when you say you're going to try and keep the vids under 20 minutes, I do enjoy a good 30+ minute marathon! As a fellow P&D it's great to see someone else who works very similar to myself and i find your product testing on Doris and Dave invaluable. Keep it up mate, i know it must be difficult with having such a physical job, coupled with visiting quotes, actually doing quotes, invoicing, keeping accounts etc etc and then having to film and edit videos on top of that. 👍

Hi, glad you found me. I'm not sure what there is in the USA. I think the UK is at the forfront of learning when it comes to trades like this. I only really see people over in the US doing spraying and curring in with a brush (from what I see on Reels and TikToc etc) Very few have the broader skill set of doing all things P&D, papering, decorative paint treatments etc. Painting is easy (so they say), Decorating is another kettle of fish. ;) Please check out some of my other videos and see what we also do over here.
