Do more research about how to write the title and don't use this | i can see the title more specific and not use that, u get more viewers. If you want to monetize, try to reach the qualified in one year because your five hundread subcriber would equal 0 like be burn from 500 to 0 when the year changed

just a suggestion, based off an experiment with another guy recently, try doing a short a day that links back to your long form vids as well as some that are "teasers" for your upcoming vids. not much time to that at all and you drive more traffic back to your long form content and puts people on alert to your upcoming vids. I obviously don't have much interest, for hopefully obvious reasons, in your content itself but I love your flow, grind and enthusiasm. definitely subscribing just out of curiosity. I love watching new channels grow. im an analytics NUT!! haha keep up the great work!

I think that is an excellent idea. Not just for youtube videos, but for nearly everything you create for yourself. It takes time to improve and learn things, giving yourself that time without too much harsh criticism is just smart. Though it is not bad to make mistakes, that is also called 'failing forward'. By failing, you learn way more than by succeeding right away.

I really appreciate the pep-talk to start a youtube channel if someone has the passion to do so. My biggest issues are not fearing the camera, or the negative feedback or any of the things you mentioned like self-doubt. My issues are that I really don't like video editing and would be extremely bored having to do that quite a lot. The other thing is that I don't have enough leftover time currently to do a youtube project on the side and not be completely overworked. For it to take 2 years or maybe more before you finally make some money is just crazy long, let alone be able to live off it (or at least provide enough to be able to work less on other things) At the end of the day, even if you're passionate about something, this is still work. Working requires energy and you only have so much of it. To fully enjoy being a youtube creator for a living, I would need a video editor, I would need full monetization and enough views and subscribers to make whatever is uploaded generate enough income for both the editor and myself. I just don't see it happen without a seriously long amount of time of being able to live off savings.

This video was really valuable info for me and also deeply encouraging so thankyou for making it. I'm creating a KZbin channel for parodies/satires/spoofs of well known songs. It's my goal to post my first video by July this year. I have started recording myself singing but there are many times when I experience self doubt/imposter syndrome around my abilities. We can't give up though. It's not easy but we can't throw in the towel even though that inner critic voice gets strong. I have a couple questions for you. What program do you use to edit your videos? and how do you get so consistent in making the videos so quickly (one a week)? Given my energy levels that seems impossible for me. Many thanks x

Awee welcome!!! So so glad you’re here. That’s so exciting you are wanting to start a channel. I definitely dealt with imposter syndrome a ton!! It goes away the more videos you make. James clear wrote “consistency enlarges ability” and I think that is so true. I use final cut pro to edit but i started on imovie which is free. As for consistency and energy levels, i 10000% feel that- i am tired all the time. I think I stay consistent because I want it so bad. I made a list of my “why” for doing this and that helps push me. I also stay consistent because I’ve chosen to prioritize this and give up other things such as hanging out with friends and having a social life LOL. I can’t do it all and I’m willing to make sacrifices at this moment. Wishing you the BEST!!🤍

The parody channel sounds like a great idea, hopefully you make a start with it as soon as you're ready for it. (or maybe just fake being ready) Also, to both of you: Please don't give up your social life, you can be very consistant and plan around it. Not having any life besides work, even if it is your passion, is just not great for both your mental health, or your physical health eventually. I've seen so many super dedicated, really talented content creators get burnouts, or depression and that stuff can take years to recover from. Work hard, but make sure you do other stuff as well that gives you joy.

Great video! I have some companions to make with this video. I get around 400k views per month mostly from shorts and make about 105 dollars a month. My cpm is usually between 30-100 dollars with some as high as $3600 but my rpm is sadly down to like 70 cents. My niche is very low paying. Im also the kind of KZbinr that posts like 3 videos a day

I did not take any courses while starting out - I mostly just studied other channels and have been watching youtube for years! I do recommend the Storytelling Masterclass for Vloggers course by Jackson Tandy - I took it recently and it has a lot of good info. I'm at 870 Subs right now but haven't posted for a year because I started to suffer with stress in work life and got really busy. It's a shame because my videos are quite polished and now I think the break has probably ruined my channel. I was getting thousands of views in a short of amount of time too.

I totally understand the struggle with trying to do youtube while working full time. Its so tough! But if you love it, definitely again! Sometimes the algorithm is forgiving for taking a break :)

When you do get monitized. Do you get paid for old views. Or do you have to get new views each month and get money from new views only..

You get paid for the new views moving forward :) or at least the viewers that watch ads from what I understand

@@rebekahjoy Subs, yes. Hours not so amazing. I'm at 516 public watch hours. I've got most of my subs by posting shorts. I've posted about 90 long form videos, 5-15 minutes long and it's really hard to get the puiblic watch hours. At this rate, it will take 3 more years to get monetized. Actually, started this channel in 2014 but, only got serious in September of 2023 and when I changed the theme to beekeeping.

Wouldn’t that be something!! If it was consistent, I would quit my 9-5 and do youtube full time. And I’d use the money to invest and also give back to others.
