i think more needs to be said about men benefiting from abortion. kelsey wasnt the only one that had that abortion, so did the sperm contributer. men need abortions almost as much as women do. some men get away without taking responsability but many more men would be stuck with commitment of parenting or at least paying support if safe abortion is unavailable.

100% this. Children don’t exist in a vacuum once they’re born. If I had actually been pregnant during my last scare, the father would have to leave college to get a job that covers child support, my poor mother would have had to cancel her retirement to offer free childcare so I could work, my dad would have had to delay his retirement because I would need financial help. “It takes a village” isn’t an aspiration, it’s a fact.

@@lovingthelessloved3679 spilling the blood of innocent babies can be a Father's decision too, he can be an accomplice in murder of his child too. Good point. I see what you did there . Let's talk about it. Many men even force or influence their mate to get abortions. Abortion makes infidelity more convenient too. Likely has helped increase the divorce rate. Rise of abortions correlate with rise of broken homes. Killing babies in the womb for a selfish and convenient life for both parents. Yes, let's talk more about that. Glad my parents were loving people.

The reason you can't eat, drink, or even chew gum before getting general anesthesia is because, while you're under, you may accidentally breathe in some liquid from your stomach (aspirate). If your stomach contains food or drink, it means it is fuller than it would be otherwise and the more likely you are to aspirate. In the case of gum flavoring, if you aspirate even slightly, those trace amounts of flavoring can increase your risk of lung infection and pneumonia. You are allowed to have select liquids up to two hours before surgery because they usually empty from the stomach within two hours time.

I too had heard the horror stories about the pill so I got a bunch of pads and pain killers and a heating pad and took off from work but when I went through the actual abortion, it felt like I had to poop and then bye bye. All done. No pain. No Blood. So I had a really smooth experience with the pill.

Thank you for sharing your story. So many people try to push the abortions are a traumatic experience narrative. Also, as a healthcare provider, I am sick of the idea that only women who are careless and not using birth control or not using it appropriately, end up wanting abortions. I have had so many women in my office in tears, because birth control fails. Even when used correctly, birth control fails. Stop shaming women for unwanted pregnancies.

Can we talk about how much harder it is for someone plus size to get this kind of Healthcare? I commented on your other video about how I was denied because I was over the weight limit of their beds (360lbs). But also, Plan B isn't an option either. Then when you are pregnant and plus size your experiences are ALWAYS tainted. I lost 30lbs in my first month of pregnancy because I was so sick. I continued to lose weight until about 2 months before my due date. I was throwing up 20-30 times A DAY. And people, doctors, nurses, almost everyone was congratulating me on my weight loss, and im just worried the fetus was getting what they needed, and that I wasn't going to due in the process. The whole experience was traumatic. But my appt to have my tube's removed is this afternoon! So excited and hoping any weight related issues don't have an impact.

Typically you only want to shave a cat if they have a medical reason. Shaving can lead to skin conditions and the inability to regulate body temp. If you're able to let a cat have long hair it's best for health!

I’ve never shaved a shorthaired cat, but I used to have a long haired cat that absolutely hated being brushed. She needed to be brushed daily, but no matter how gentle I was, which brush I used or whose expert advice I took, she hated it. I started taking her for lion cuts every Spring. I live in the South and it gets really hot even though she was 100% indoors. She was suddenly a different cat. She was so much friendlier and more active. She just seemed so happy. The fur that eventually grew in, took a long time to get to the point of needing constant grooming. She wasn’t getting hairballs. I talked to 2 vets that were cat only vets. Both fully supported Lion cuts for long haired cats.

I’d go to Aldi and get juice, cracker and cookies for the women in recovery. The cashiers always asked me if I was buying these snacks for a daycare. At the time I didn’t know what to say (this was 25 years ago) so I just said yes. So all the Aldi ladies thought I was buying snacks for kids when it was actually for the local abortion clinic. So, funny story (with not so funny roots): The reason they ask for you to tell them what you're there for with surgeries is because of the history of undereducated people being used as test subjects for surgeries with no idea of what they were there to have done to them. Source: I had a hysto, and I was asked three different times, and I finally asked why they thought I didn't know.

I had to have surgery and basically every new person who came in asked what I was there for. I think it’s also a history of people not knowing exactly what a procedure entails and being upset afterwards. Also also, to prevent mix ups like operating on the wrong patient or doing the wrong limb, etc.

One of my great grandmothers died from a botched abortion. This form of healthcare needs to be accessible and affordable. It saves lives! She left 4 kids behind, one of which was under a year old. It ruined the whole family - the kids’ dad became a severe alcoholic after her death and gave their kids up to the foster care system, etc.

I'm glad you had a great experience! Unfortunately, my was not, but I don't regret it one bit and I would do it again if I had to! I did not get put under and the pain medicine they gave me did nothing. It was some of the worst pain I have ever experienced. When it was done, there wasn't really any pain afterwards nor did I bleed much. No complications or side effects. I also knew when it was over that the fetus was gone because I felt SOOOO much better! The reason I found out I was even pregnant was because I had HORRENDOUS morning sickness! It was all day long, non stop, constant nausea and vomiting. At first, I though it was the stomach flu or food poisoning but when it didn't go away after a day or 2, I got a pregnancy test. As soon as the procedure was done, ALL my nausea went away! It was AMAZING! While I was in the waiting room waiting to get the procedure, I was constantly running to the bathroom to puke. It was such a relief to be rid of it and it blew my mind how instant it was. We need more people to share their positive abortion stories!

I've had two, and both times was the pill. The first time was a pretty painful experience (about the same pain level as Kelsey describes for a couple days), but I got the next one early, at like 6 weeks, and it was super smooth, just like a normal period almost. So if you're reading this comment and worried about the experience, just know it's different every time due to a lot of factors, but it isn't an inherently terrible experience.

I would love to share my story. I had an abortion as a teenager. I also was born with a mutation in my liver that makes taking medication and pregnancy very complicated. I have no other choice but to have an abortion because my body couldn’t support a pregnancy. Though I also knew that it was the best choice for me personally. Abortion is health care and I wouldn’t be alive without the choice I made (alongside multiple medical professionals). I’m so privileged that I live somewhere that can provide me not only free healthcare but also having access to health services that gave me access to a healthcare service that saved my life. My abortion was not so pleasant due to my liver and my mental health. It’s time that we as women everywhere start looking to make these services accessible and affordable to anyone who needs them anywhere.but I think your story also highlights how this care could be better particularly by providing mental health options for after. I’m glad you’re okay and that everything went smoothly! Thank you for bringing this up on your platform it makes a huge difference!

First, I want to commend you and thank you for sharing your experience. The stigma and shame is so prevalent that you sharing your experience as its happening is increadibly powerful in my opinion. When it comes to the "uuuh", I react that way and dont enjoy abortion jokes simply because of my own experience, not because I think they are wrong or shouldnt be said. For me, I had an abortion 13 years ago and I knew from the positive test that I would terminate the pregnancy (thankfully I live in Sweden so access to quality care without judgement was easy) . In my case it was because of health issues and economics, not because I didnt want a child at that point. So for me it was very sad and something I cried and mourned over even years later. Not because I believed it was a baby and not an embryo, but simply because of the potential, the dream of what could be if my situation was different. So yeah, in my case, it just hits a sore spot to hear jokes about it as a baby and not an embryo, but thats my problem and no one elses. Im so glad you have such supportive people around you that help you through with laughter and sugar :)

Also, reduces ovarian cancer risk. I had it done 2 years ago, best decision ever!

If I describe bad thing (abortion) as a generally good category it's kinda part of (healthcare) it's like it's good now! This is just lying with language, to yourself. "I didn't poop my pants, I successfully performed a natural and normal body function :D" "I made a choice about my body!" You're just ignoring the actual thing this way by replacing it with something more appealing.

Judging it bad or good is not what it’s really about. We are talking about a medical procedure and there should be no judgement.

@@kimwalter6341 You're doing it right now, it's medical which = not bad because it's a medical thing it's medical. It's an abortion, forcing yourself to refer to it as medical or an "abor-bor" to undermine it or appeal to normalcy doesn't change what it is, the casual/normalcy of it is the actual justification for it. What it is is what it's about and it's the casual celebration and mockery of snuffing your own children the way you'd describe a night out with friends, it's insane.

@@chunguschungus two hard to read paragraphs- because of the poor grammar and punctuation and because of the ignorant stance lol. an abortion is the definition of something medical…literally look up ‘medical definition’ and try to explain why an abortion is not medical…no one cares if you’re against abortion, just don’t get one yourself.

Abortions shouldn't be something you're proud of or celebrating.. you still technically killed your unborn child. I will hope more women open their eyes and actually at least have some bit of remorse. Someone won't get the option to live now along with million others because it is so normalized in this country. God help us.

Men walk away all the time. I got married, we were growing our family, as soon as I found something in his phone, he told me to get an abortion and that he wanted a divorce. That's not okay either. Walking away from the human you helped create? Very cowardly

@tatyanadavis1914 good point, it is very true. My sister had a baby the dad took off as soon as she told him she was pregnant. But what if the dad wants the baby and the mom doesn't, does it mean she still has right to abort ? He created the child too, it's his right to have them even if she will be the one pregnant. Or does it not matter when dad's actually want to be their and have their baby...

@Jessyroselove for the same reason that they can just walk away at any moment and we are left to continue the pregnancy, pain of birth and changing our entire life if they decide to leave, NO. My husband stopped me from getting an abortion when I was only 3 or 4 weeks. It hadn't even implanted in my uterus yet but he stopped me. Now that I'm too late, he waits to go on a work trip to tell me he thought about it and wants a divorce and for me to get an abortion. Wasted over 1 Month with bullshit. Acted like he wanted this baby. Even cried when I expressed my fears of him leaving if I can't get past what I discovered in his phone. He assured me and left anyway. Now im holding these pills in my hands and reading this paper saying not to do this if im more than 10w pregnant. Wtf do i do?!. So no. Men have NO say

She also takes medicine for her health conditions that wouldn’t be safe during pregnancy…so in her situation it may have also been partially needed, not just cuz she wanted to be child free. (Which is also okay.) Trigeminal Neuralgia sucks big time. I have it too and before remission I could have never dealt with pregnancy evererrrrer.

Yes, in my country you can get one within the first 3 moths of pregnancy, in special cases within the first 5 months, i read at some point an article about a woman getting one in the seventh month and the child was born without an arm...also as far as im concerned the mother can also risk dying if its late in the pregnancy

In my country it's 10 weeks, later if there are severe deformities. But honestly the "honest" cut-off would be when a heartbeat is seen - 6 weeks.
