Hi, I’m new to this channel and I just wanted to leave this small positive note here. I really like your approach to capsule wardrobe, making it very realistic and enjoyable . For years i didn’t want to get into it because everyone was telling me that I should have neutral colors and minimal prints... Your videos are great and I can’t wait to see you grow :)

This ideas are amazing but I think the best solution would be buying less clothes and continue with selling!! :)

I'm so happy I've discovered this channel. :) I have watched too many capsule wardrobe videos with a lot of neutral-coloured, fashionable and expensive clothes which was hard to relate to. Your approach to clothes and capsule wardrobe is very down-to-earth, creative and fun. I'm also mostly buying second hand clothes, rarely in trift stores, more often online, on Croatian version of Poshmark or similar sites. I don't sell clothes often, only special pieces that I know will be noticed and sold easily. I just don't want to be bothered with that and wait for months or years for someone to buy something from my shop. I'd rather just give the clothes to friends or charity and make room for another. When it comes to my shopping mistakes, I just try to learn the lesson and move on. :)

I do the same. I buy (almost) everything second Hand. I buy a lot of specific (i need a red Sweatshirt, I want a black T-Shirt dress etc) via an app. And I love Shopping in thirftstores. I will just buy things that I cant find second hand new (I just bought a jeans new because i couldnt find one that fit me second hand) and the things i dont wear anymore i resell. If you buy second hand and resell the item then you have no lost of worth at all. I try to stay away from h&m even second hand because of the low quality. :)

A few big problems for me buying second hand unfortunately...1) the thrift stores in my city have really jacked up the prices ...a second hand little cotton blouse with a stretched out neck for $60? Or a cardigan sweater for $130 because it was Eileen Fisher. It is still secondhand and it was a little 'dated'. When I question stores about their pricing they say it's because it's 'vintage' ( and it's technically not it's just second hand) or they say well this is a 'specialty' store and it is a 'curated' collection. If I go to the 'affordable ' second hand stores they have nothing but cheap, synthetic, misshaped, shrunken, stained clothes with holes in them...problem 2) most clothes from any thrift store smells...not a 'people' smell but of scented laundry detergent or dryer sheets. I have not used or had toxic scents in my home for over 20 years. I cannot tolerate the smell at all and no matter what I do the smell does not come out. So sad.

Sarah Thatcher So sad 😞I completely understand that not everyone is able to shop second hand so this won’t work for everyone. I am very lucky and have a wonderful second hand shop in my area. There are a few ways to shop second hand online (thredup, Poshmark, etc) but if shopping second hand isn’t possible for you then that is ok! You can still be a conscious shopper and try selling your clothes if you ever need to get rid of something 😊

It’s a brilliant idea. The perfect circle while keeping yourself on a budget. I have sold on eBay mostly jewelry but I hoard clothing and with this recent stay at home I’m moving forward with the Poshmark plan! I’ve also ordered a kit from three up clean out your closet. Have you any experience with them? Thank you for your videos. Bravo!

Paolina Sulli I’m so glad you are going to give it a try! I found that I really like using Poshmark and while they do take a small percentage of your sales, the shipping process is SO convenient! I haven’t had any experience with the Clean Out Kit. But I do love Thred Up! I will have to look into that!

I do this too! The only thing that I don’t do is keep track of what I sell and then only spend that amount on clothing. I think that I probably spend less than I make reselling things on Poshmark and eBay since I only shop at thrift stores for the most part.
@DaisyGalStyling
@DaisyGalStyling 4 жыл бұрын
faeriesmak Setting aside that money was really helpful for me! Instead of budgeting for clothing every month or feeling guilty for spending money on clothes, this money is specifically set aside for me to spend on clothes for myself or to sell on Poshmark. It has really helped me stay accountable with shopping!

Hi Emma! Do you only shop on Poshmark, or do you shop in store at local thrift shops as well? I think you mentioned in a previous video that you’re in NYC- if you are and shop in stores, do you mind sharing the ones you like? Thanks!

Fernanda - Approximately Right I actually live in Milwaukee! I buy 90% of my clothes from a resale shop called Clothes Mentor. Shopping second hand is all about finding what works for you and I am able to find the styles and quality of clothing that I love. If I am looking for something really specific I will look at Poshmark 😊
