This reminds me of what happened this year. In fourth grade,I had it all.two nice best friends and we all got along like Pancakes a syrup. But I will never forget August 22.2021. I’m at my grand mothers house. When my mom checks her phone. “Lolly! Your In Mrs benders class! At this point,I was waiting to hear who my fifth grade teacher was.I was happy,I heard Mrs bender was really nice! But I check my iPad,to see a text from ava. “Lolly! I got ms.vandenberg! My heart almost stopped. I soon found out that my other friend Ryleigh had got ms.stangle. I was crying. And we just drifted apart over fifth grade. I have friends now,but it won’t be the same again

I know it’s hard to hear this now, but things get better. I had an amazing friend group by the end of elementary, and when we went into Middle school, we stuck around. However, by the end of our first year (7th grade) I had noticed that my best friend had stopped hanging out with my group as much, as well as one of our other friends. They started hanging out with a bunch of boys and ended up dating them too. I had a depressive few months over the summer into 8th grade due to being shutdown for many, many hangout requests I sent to all of my friends. The ironic thing? Come highschool, my best friend has moved away and the friend that hung out with her ended up leaving the new group of friends she had as well (she gets bored with people, ig, as I found out from her cousin- it was nice closure). Those group of boys they hung out with now date my new best friend and we all stick together as good friends. Wacky ride, but I can say, those two leaving me was for the best. Oh yeah, and the last time I talked to my old best friend, she was trying to sell me cookies. I laughed at her.

This made me a bit sad. I haven’t made any friends since 2020. (Which I’m okay with) but I’ve floated away from my huge friend group who’ve been friends with me since fifth grade. We were forced to go to different schools because we live in different areas. High school is halfway done for me anyway, it doesn’t make sense to make new friends just to drop them and loose touch in two years. But I do wish my old friend group and I didn’t lose touch as badly as we did.
