Wow, so much to learn from your story especially the prayers you and your husband had. Stay blessed and you’ve won a new subscriber. Great story. For your information I’m Ghanaian in us and my best friend is Nigerian.

Had the same challenge. I'm Ghanaian and my husband is Nigerian. My mum took longest to accept it...some of the toughest months of my life to be honest. But we're happily married now and living in the UK

He's somone I can see spending my rest of the life with even tho he's my 1st serious relationship. Idk how I'll convince my parents cuz he's chinese but he recently told me that he told about us to his mom and his mom approves us omg I'm gonna cry 😳😭

I say, aaaamen, I am not dating. I am Caribbean, but I love African culture, food clothes, and as 1st choice would want to marry a Nigerian 2nd Ghanian, but God's will is perfect

Oh Chidera thank you so much for this video, I am currently in this situation right now, in love with a Ghanaian, we met here in the UK and just like you on a dating app, I am literally scared and skeptical about the relationship cause he wants something serious and I don’t know how to relate it to my family. I for one hasn’t accepted it that I am involved with someone outside my Nationality. Thanks so much for this. God bless you

For those asking for Jason's side of the story. I think Chidera did a video of that. At that time Jason was still carrying his dreads. Chidera actually fought it and tried calling the relationship off at a time, but she couldn't stand it and she had to give up. So happy for you Chidera may your union continue to grow in love.

Parent's concerns are always valid, I get it. They have the right to be concerned. I was like you. Marriage was the last thing on my mind. I grew up n England 14-23. I was 23. I had a fab job! I was independent, so when I said I was getting married, everyone was just sooo shocked that I said I was getting married! My mum was always afraid that I was not interested and that noone would want to marry a UK educated Pharmacist!! Hehe! I married a full blown Ibo man, born and bred while this girl did not know how to make a decent ofe!! Now though, my eldest is 26 and I am understanding the concerns. We talk about it often, We talk about the challenges of mixed cultural and race mariages. I am so scared to be honest! I get palpitations sometimes! I am hoping that God will feel sorry for me and us and make it easy!! SO if your parents are concerned, I hope whoever reads this will undersatnd! They want the best.. Boys are the real problem! Your parents were phenomenal! Wishing you two the very best! Thanks for sharng!

@@asiedu2869 n Nope! That is not the case! I am Igbo, out our culture is not similar to the Yorubas or Hausas. So not true. Even within Igbo land there are differences that could be problematic. Best!

I dont think it is because he is Ghanian but because he is not an igbo. Igbo parents are the most tribalists in Nigeria if your husband is a Nigerian and not igbo it will be the same. You are Ada and it is very difficult for them to marry their Ada to non Igbo.

If he were a white man, would your parents have taken so long to accept your decision?. Am a Ghanaian and did not support intercultural marriage but after some deep reflections I have come to accept it.
@GiftMichael-ii8wp

Yes they will. The problem is tribe not race. I know of an Igbo parent who gave testimony in church because her daughter broke up with a white and she's marrying a Nigerian. The problem to her was she sees whites as people who doesn't know God but Nigerian men knows God the most😂😂😂. That's her mentality. But I pity her cause Nigerian men are the worst 😂😂😂.
