It hurts seeing how much I can relate to these things. Cherry on top is the hijab and muslim clothing I started to wear when I was 11 until I left Islam last year when I was 20. I made me feel so undesireble, ugly and old. Made me feel so insecure about my looks and eventually I gained weight and became like how I thought I was, like an old lady. I would always look at the pretty dresses and makeup products feeling I will never be allowed to wear/use them. Now I feel so much happier and free. It sucks to see my conservative family keeps fighting me because of my "too revealing" clothes.

You have never been a muslim but yet program to be so because you seen your parent called themselves muslim therefore you thought you were muslim but you were not . When I was 11, I choose to wear hijab without my parents telling me to. Ever since then, i always wore long dresses and outside cover, never wore any jeans or pants. You claim i wasn't a real Muslim or I didn't really want to wear hijab, that I was forced by parents. You claim this because you cannot comprehend that a person can indeed leave Islam even tho once they truly believed in it. Trust me they can. You don't know islam that well. Many imams and mulla are interpreting the religion according to their own understanding and it's on us to study the true life of muhmmad, to understand whether he said what they ascribe to him or not . If he didn't say all of that then that mean they lie upon him and made many reject he's message based on a lie .

I am happy for you Abdullah. You have the opportunity to come out in the open and live your life as you please. Unfortunately it isn't the same for all us former muslims. Even though I live in the west, the risk of coming out is too great, it means certain ostrasizing from my family. It's very difficult. I have to put up with pretending to pray, fasting in ramadhan, listen to quran being recited, having this religion pushed on me from almost every angle. I am however grateful, that I can still escape occasionally and get away from things, if I was living in a muslim country, it would be worse. It’s all about ones heart. You can have islam around you all you want, but if it doesn’t enter your heart you’ll never stop doubting. Islam robbed me of my talents. As a child i was insanely flexible and to this day i have retained some of it. All i wanted to do was be an actress, ballet dancer, and filmmaker. I begged my mom to let me do it and she said no and no and no. And their iron fist ruined my passions. I was robbed of all skills, talents, hobbies that i wanted. I wanted so badly to be a ballerina that i practiced on my own watching the olympics gymnastics and using magazines that had some moves. I secretly did it in some school and then gave it up because it got too hard. I feel robbed of childhood. The first time i cleaned a bathroom i was 6 years old. My aunt told me it was time to be a woman, likely from her ideas of Aisha’s marriage at 6. I was traumatized. I am so angry. I too was forced to go to Islamic school. I am so sad right now. All i was taught was to be a good wife. I feel like such a discarded person. Like my family saw me as a mindless drone who will birth more mindless drones. This is my ONE life. I wanted to live it my way and already missed out on so much.

In reference to your statement at 4:15-4:35, I think to some extent we are slaves to our desires. This is because our desires are intrinsic to us and thus we don't 'choose' our desires.. Therefore saying that you are not a slave to your own desires gives credibility to the libertarian free-will argument. Your decision to buy a house derives from your instrinsic desire for shelter. However, Mohammed and Allah rather made you a slave to their dictates on how to satisfy that instrinsic desire for shelter. We can only strive to exercise control over our desires, but what we can't achieve is absolute control. This is what makes us slaves to our desires.

Ramadan was one of the months of the Arab Calendar before the emergence of Islam. Islam came and nothing was said about Ramadan, until Muhammad moved to Medina after he spent thirteen years in Mecca during which period neither he did fast nor talk about the fasting. When he reached Medina and mixed with the Jews, he came to know that they were fasting Ashura (عاشوراء), and he asked about this strange thing. They told him that the day of Ashura is the day that Allah saved Musa and his people killing Pharaoh and his soldiers by drowning. On that day, Muhammad said : 'We are more concerned about Musa than them' and began to take fasting imposing on the people to do fasting Ashura ( see Zad Al-Maad, Ibn Qyyim Al Jawziyyah vol. 2, p. 36). Here we may have wonder : How can Muslims be more worthy to Musa than the Jews, while he is the so called Prophet sent to them by Allah? To be honest, I've seen many ex-muslims online, and somehow they all live a lot better, and get more fun and richer than ever when they were still Muslims, is this a coincidence? I think not. Many women from r/exmuslim even claim how violent and critical Islam is, especially the Hijab conflict, everything is by force, for no reason other than that so called "Allah", not to mention that strange and strict haram rules, which blocks almost everything to be developed I don't know why people still think it's a reasonable thing to be in Islam, and I'm looking for your response, I want to either claim my point right or have my mind changed, don't just copy paste a Qur'an phrase like most Muslims do, I want to have an actual talk
