It's been 8 months since I left Islam... I was one of the imaam in a masjid from where I work.. I was so deep in my faith.. yet confused in my heart.. I had so many questions mostly about hadiths .. it's like.. muhammad order to do something and he doesn't do it... It’s all about ones heart. You can have islam around you all you want, but if it doesn’t enter your heart you’ll never stop doubting. Faith can be expressed as a spectrum, from those who have such strong belief that they endured horrible torture and persecution for it (like the early Muslims) , to those who are on the brink of disbelief. It hurts seeing how much I can relate to these things. Cherry on top is the hijab and muslim clothing I started to wear when I was 11 until I left Islam last year when I was 20. I made me feel so undesireble, ugly and old. Made me feel so insecure about my looks and eventually I gained weight and became like how I thought I was, like an old lady. I would always look at the pretty dresses and makeup products feeling I will never be allowed to wear/use them. Now I feel so much happier and free. It sucks to see my conservative family keeps fighting me because of my "too revealing" clothes.

I'm not here to bash you, but I would say how can. You leave a religion that you never belong to . You have never been a muslim but yet program to be so because you seen your parent called themselves muslim therefore you thought you were muslim but you were not . The only way we can find peace on this earth is by following human nature and be in contact with our source of life and that is the creator . To follow him was a choice , people follow muhammad because of his character and conduct not forced , he never forced no one to follow him , even his own daughter followed her father's footsteps because of the dealer she saw on him . He was preaching with his character , he was a walking talking quran , different from what the so called muslim preaches nowadays . You cannot be born into any religion . You have to walk the talk . So please you guys should stop coming here saying you left islam or drop hijab, you never choose to wear it as a symbol rather your parent made you wear it which you never liked now you are fade up and dropped it . When I was 11, I choose to wear hijab without my parents telling me to. Ever since then, i always wore long dresses and outside cover, never wore any jeans or pants. You claim i wasn't a real Muslim or I didn't really want to wear hijab, that I was forced by parents. You claim this because you cannot comprehend that a person can indeed leave Islam even tho once they truly believed in it. Trust me they can. You don't know islam that well. If you knew, yuh wouldn't be here telling these. I was in your spot once, trying to introduce islam to people, trying to make them understand the "true islam". I myself is born a muslim and if it wasn't for the fact that I understand the teaching I would drop lot of teaching but now I know if muhmmad was to come right now he wouldn't recognize anything that he taught because it's far away from his teaching therefore all that we read in these hadith most of it are nonsense ascribe to muhmmad. For instance if you read in a hadith that muhmmad said to stone the female who committed adultery whereas he didn't said that then if you believe that was coming from muhmmad and decide to leave islam because of that then you are leaving it according to a false teaching that you were taught which didn't make sense to you and thinking that what islam is about . Many imams and mulla are interpreting the religion according to their own understanding and it's on us to study the true life of muhmmad, to understand whether he said what they ascribe to him or not . If he didn't say all of that then that mean they lie upon him and made many reject he's message based on a lie .

I am happy for you Abdullah. You have the opportunity to come out in the open and live your life as you please. Unfortunately it isn't the same for all us former muslims. Even though I live in the west, the risk of coming out is too great, it means certain ostrasizing from my family. It's very difficult. I have to put up with pretending to pray, fasting in ramadhan, listen to quran being recited, having this religion pushed on me from almost every angle. I am however grateful, that I can still escape occasionally and get away from things, if I was living in a muslim country, it would be worse. I hope that one day it becomes normal to leave Islam, and all of us closet ex-muslims can live our lives freely without any worries. Thanks for making this video Abdullah.
