It feels disgusting to even think about it.When I was eleven and my sister left for another city, the same maulana took advantage of the fact that i was alone with me while he taught. He sexually abused me several times. At that point I started hating maulanas and everyone who was dressed in similar attires evoked a feeling of fear in me. The incident has a deep effect on my personality that I'm still working upon(ugh,at 25y).Years later I completely snapped out of it and came out to my parents.I feel peace in my heart like never before.

Sitra Ever there were many reasons why I left sikhi the main ones being that logically it didn't make sense to me. As a kid whenever I'd ask questions about why do we keep our hair long but cut fingernails they'd always give me conflicting answers. Another was whenever I would go to the gurdwara I could never understand what they were saying and they would ask for money. The 5 symbols of sikhi didn't make sense to me either as one is kachera (underwear). Spiritually up until I was 17 I thought sikhi was the truth but I started having doubts when I found out that sikhi says God is everywhere in the creation and that even though there is only one God all paths will lead to him that just doesn't make sense to me. Also there is no clear concept of heaven or hell all they say is we will merge with waheguru and sing holy praises or get reincarnated this doesn't sit well with me at all. Sikhi is to me is a random mix of Hinduism and Islam. Lastly the Sikh community is really backwards and racist but at the same time try to portray themselves as very integrated into Canadian society. I knew Sikhs who would talk a lot of shit about Muslims and black people and I couldn't relate with them also how they had so much false pride was cringe so I decided this religion and culture wasn't something I wanted to be part of I chose Islam because it makes the most sense to me and addresses all the evils in society and how to protect my selves from them

Muslims aren't perfect and can be frustrating but many religious people are like that from people I spoke to. I'm glad I'm not from Pakistan though from how it culturally seems I was brought up in a western country and we live in peace with other non muslims. I even have Christian family and we respect each other and are in peace. I'm not sunni or identity with a specific Islamic sect. But if this man does not believe in Islam it is his choice. Abdullah is still young. When the life gets hard that he hit rock bottom, he may realize or not. Funny though, whatever he thought he found out, is not Islam. There are some periods in your life that your iman fluctuates, it's inevitable because we are human. We make mistakes esp when we are living in non-muslim countries. Believe me it happened to me. But when I turned 40, I started to think about my purpose in life as partying and socialing were not as important anymore. Now, my iman is back and getting stronger Alhamdulillah. I am so grateful that I got back. Hidayah from Allah (swt) is not just given to anyone. The fact that my iman was given back had me so overwhelmingly thankful to Allah 😢🤲 praying for your healing.
