I was talking with my friend about farming in Kenya. I asked why can't we grow olives and grapes? So, I decided check if what I had read sometime ago about grapes growing in Kenya was right. Glad I did. This is an exciting and inspiring story. "Wìra no ùrīa ùtarì mùrute" keep it up Mwangi co. 🎉🎉🎉

I recall a Priest who started the oldest winery in Kenya (Meru County) saying that the demand for wine is huge. The winery supplies all Catholic Churches in the region and Italy. He cannot get enough grapes.

@@mwangigachonde4058 …it’s confusing , as I checked the elevation of Naivasha on the Internet, in feet, it is 6,180 feet above sea level, and Nairobi is lower at 5456 feet…do you mean 1500 meters above sea level? Meters, not feet?
@daphneb55 Жыл бұрын
@@mwangigachonde4058 it’s also strange that Nairobi is lower than Naivasha! I have one solitary grape vine which I brought from South Africa, a delicious Hannepoot white grape…it’s struggling to grow in a large pot, and produced a few bunches of grapes which are ripening, about 5 bunches. ( no garden to speak of sadly…)
