Yaa Asantewaa was captured together with the then Asantehene Osei Tutu Agyemang Prempeh 1 to the Seychelles, later the Asantehene was freed some years later,on his return he was enstooled as Kumasihene, because his nephew has occupied the stool as Asantehene, Osei Tutu Agyemang Prempeh the second.

There was never Asantehene after Nana Prempeh I absence it was after his return that the British wanted him to be Kumasehene instead of Asantehene but the they gave in later. Nana Prempeh II succeeded him after his death. Nana Prempeh I was released on 12 September 1924 and died on 12 May 1931 at the aged of 60 Asanteman was restored on 31st January, 1935 under Nana Agyeman Prempeh II. He was the first to use the title "Otumfuo"

Yaa Asantewaa was actually from Besease, Nana Prempeh I requested her remain to be brought back to Ghana for a fitting burial. She is buried at Besease. Nana Prempeh II father was from Besease Opanin Kwaku Owusu who was Asantehen Kyeame and the mother Nana Akua Bakoma the daughter of Nana Yaa Akyaa Asantehemaa is also buried in a house at Besease.

She came from BESEASE near Ejisu so she was supposed to be buried at BESEASE I want to let people to know that Y.ASANTEWAA was from BESEASE that is why the museum which the too known. JJ Rawlings built at Ejisu was burnt he should have built it at BESEASE
