This dude is really good at interviewing. NEVER interrupts, knows what to ask to engage the guest. Very good interview and masterful to get Nate to open up about his personal life. I had never known that about Nate until now.

I think most people agree that wrestling is the best base….even Joe Rogan a bjj black belt would say that What he said was more of an expression that applies to average people in real life….and especially average people 20 years ago back when no one trained. So it probably used to be true that a blue belt could work most anyone they crossed paths with But it depends on what your goals are….bjj is practical. It can deter or stabilize most situations in real life Meaning to say if mma is your goal then a wrestling base is best…..if youre a regular civilian wanting to handle business and defend yourself then bjj is perfect

I like that he lets Nate speak through a lot of his brain fog that fighting has caused. I fought a bunch in grade school and a little bit in high school, and to this day I have a messed up jaw, a droopy eyelid and had two surgeries on my nose. I can’t imagine if I fought all through my teens, twenties and thirties, how much more damage I would’ve sustained. I got big big respect for fighters and the way they choose to make a living

Reminds me how I grew up…. all everyone talked about and did and had big riots at my high school was fighting and after being bullied at middle school and eventually snapping and beating everyone ass I got respect and at my senior year I suffered my first lost to someone who been treating in mma but it was a 1 vs 1 lost i best him once so started training after to see what it was all about …

When he mentioned that students were missing their bus ride home to go watch a fight at the park was on point. It was different growing up in Stockton Ca in the ‘90’s. The only city that I’ve been to that I would admit is more hood then Stockton is Memphis. Memphis is G.H.E.T.T.O.
