Jones has a long reach and good wrestling but he cannot strike among the best strikers who are equal of size hence why he's choosing his opponents nowadays. Makachev is a much better striker and of course his grappling is elite. He is all round more complete than Jones. some of his shots were pretty good but Islam dominated him in both striking and wrestling. This was a challenge for Islam. I think Islam was not expecting that much of a good takedown defense from DP, that surprised him.
