It's encouraging to see someone who is highly accomplished but doesn't try to use a lot of corporate-speak. Very related gentleman. Wish him all the best in the future.

Ciko - huge respect. I love your gentleness, humility and the fact that you tell the nation that success does not come without hard work. Opportunities are created being in the right place at the right time but that too, comes from having the right attitude. A role model for all.

Inspirational. Proof that you only need one person to believe in your talent and the rest you just put in work. Give people a chance!

Xoli Mngambi's this message is for you. [because your interviews always centre around the same thing. This gentleman had a childhood of very little, he does not speak of [previously disadvantaged, racism, apartheid, BEE] and all the other political BS that is thrown around by yourself. All he did not have he worked his butt off and deserves to be in his current position. Did not hide his money in the lounge, and was not on many BEE organizations for personal and financial gain. [Mr Nedbank Group Managing Executive for Retail and Business Banking Ciko Thomas, congratulations and well done.]

This is a true inspirational guy. More indiginal South African need to listen to this gentleman in life you got be daring and hustler. When he said he got himself in high school, it reminded me of myself back over 40yrs ago, that is also how I started primary school. I was raised by my mum and grandma, we were so poor my mom could only afford to put my older brother to school grade 1, So, I use to follow my brother to school, I use to wait outside the school for him on his school brake, I would play with my brother and his classmates at the of the school hrs I would then walk home with my brother. One day my brother's teacher after seeing me don't this for a while he asked me to get in to his classroom to start studying, and that is how I started primary school, the rest is history...in this world there are evil people,but, there are also good people

Great experience to share! In life, when you stand still you die. Keep walking. Keep trying something out. That is how you make your luck! 👏👏👏🥳 I hope you will rise to chief executive at NB. I've been with them since early working days and am a bee shareholder. All the best 👍

Did he climb or was he carried? He's a puppet to dance to Rupert's tune...
@khathumulweli4682Ай бұрын
Does Rupert own Nedbank. Why can't we celebrate one of our own without mention Rupert. You being narrow
@mabaker391Ай бұрын
@khathumulweli4682 you are very welcome to your own opinions as I am to mine. I wish it was just a case of being "narrow" - then it wouldn't affect the whole country - but it does and will affect everyone more and more as time passes by
@mabaker391Ай бұрын
@khathumulweli4682 there is an old African saying - it goes something like this "the sheep grow up fearing the wolf but at the end of the day, the shepherd eats them all". I think that says it all - dont you?
@Nacifra7Ай бұрын
I agree with you sir...he seems intelligent , well spoken and oddly saying all the right things(mind you all his heroes are white blank sheets of paper)like a house ninja of note. If only batting for the right team was that simple in logic...we'd all be heroes...No villains
@mabaker391Ай бұрын
@Nacifra7 thanks for your reply. I appreciate it. Its a very deep and dark rabbit hole that we can go down - if you are interested. For now - suffice to say that South Africa is a privately owned Corporation - registered in USA Johann Rupert is the CEO NIKKI OPPENHEIMER IS THE CFO and Cyril Ramaphosa is the spokes person (acting as the President) Cyril was planted in the position by Johann Rupert as much as we'd like to believe it was through the ballot box. Because Cyril is a willing puppet. He's got no power. These people surround themselves with like minded people, willing to do their bidding - instead of "best man for the job" and that is very sad because the poor people are the ones that suffer every time....
