Fun fact: While Fairly OddParents is a Paramount franchise, Nelvana was an international distribution partner for the first 4 seasons, and the first half of season 5. Disney Channel/XD was a broadcast partner, due to Nickelodeon being Pay TV while Disney was free, or Nick flat out being unavailable in some regions.

i don't know about other regions but in latin america Disney broadcasted the fairly odd parents before Disney XD launched through Jetix (the show was even infamous here because the channel wouldn't stop airing MARATHONS of the episodes Nelvana owned), there are even rumours that fox kids aired it when Disney bought the sub branch company that backed Fox Kids it is an interesting case, the fairly odd parents IS from nickelodeon legally but if i'm not wrong they only own the international distribution of seasons 6-10, even in their own channel they only aired said seasons

As for Nelvana ones, I love Wayside, Detentionaire, and DN Ace. Y'all hit different with unique stories, styles, talent, and theme music. The American majority just can't accept something that is (legitimately) better than the mainstream Canadian toons. Heck, Teletoon skewing towards more Americanized content is one nail in their own coffin. I love Canadian cartoons, and I hope that y'all can make "the lights go off," as Skye Sweetnam famously declared on the Wayside theme tune. Now, if only more people heard about the Lyon Smith banger that can splice through reality TV... AKA: DN Ace. Cheers, Shane.

It's so cool that you're a fan of Cardcaptors in specific as well; I tend to only enjoy the old 90s/00s dubs (think DiC Sailor Moon or Mew Mew Power). Seeing Cardcaptors get 3 whole sections of the video made my day. By the way, I learned more from this video than I did from reading the Wikipedia article. Your videos are amazing! P.S., I'll give you a random Cardcaptors fact I know, it cost Nelvana $100,000 an episode to make.

Nelvana is a huge part of my childhood, especially Little Bear, Franklin, and Care Bears [fond memories of the 1980s series and Journey to Joke A Lot on DVD]. Hey Red, will you one day cover the interesting history of Will Vinton Studios? A company that had so much potential, and for a brief period of time during the late 80s and early 90s actually was successful, only for everything to go wrong, Phill Knight to takeover the company, and the studio became Laika at the expense of Will Vinton himself. In the 90s, Will even had plans to create a theme park called Claymation Station! There's a documentary called Claydream that I highly recommend, but be warned, it's one of the most bittersweet stories ever.

Hi Red! This was a good video. Will you do the history of Will Vinton Studios one day? They were famous for The California Raisins, Domino's Pizza's The Noid, and the M&M Spokescandies, but there was a lot more then just them. For example, they did a faithful adaption of French classic story "The Little Prince" and the movie "The Adventures Of Mark Twain". The company was at its most successful in the late 80s but started to struggle afterwords. Phill Knight bought the company and FIRED WILL FROM HIS OWN STUDIO, and the company became Laika. There's a documentary called Claydream that I highly recommend checking out, it's a very bittersweet story. I think more people need to know the history of Will Vinton Studios.

A more recent Nelvana show would be Zokie of Planet Ruby. I bring this up not just because of how Nelvana made it, but because of how Nick totally decimated it upon sight. It cements how much Nick’s relationship with Nelvana has gone downhill since The Backyardigans went off the air, which I think can also be a reason for the studio’s downfall. If one of their more reliable collaborators won’t air their shows after decades of doing just that, who can they trust? Ruby deserved better. Ruby deserved the world. Because trust me - she is adorable. #JusticeforPlanetRuby
