@@ColtSteel25 Right?! Man I was born in '88, there were a few Chiefs playoff victories from before I really understood what was going on, but it wasn't until 2014 that I saw one of my teams *actually* win in the post season. (Royals or Chiefs) Got paid off by a Royals victory then, Alex Smith came with Andy Reid and all the sudden the Chiefs were something too. Then Mahomes came and suddenly I'm not celebrating "just getting into the playoffs" it's post season expectations every year, even this year with all the injuries. People talk about the good ol' days, man we're livin' in 'em.

Patrick is still growing and learning. He is willing to learn and adapt. That will allow him to keep getting better. Its how he will continue to find a way. They all have flaws. They will all make mistakes. Its the ones who adjust and keep going.
@WilliamBrown-pk8hd
@WilliamBrown-pk8hd Ай бұрын
The Chiefs when they had Alex Smith were a really good team. They never had a losing season, they were arguably the best team in the AFC (you can say they were the second best behind the Broncos 2012-2014), they had a good offense but they weren't a DOMINANT team. With Patrick, they are not only a dynamic team but they're also a dominant team. He has the same aura and winning edge that Brady had, you can never ever count him out nor bet against him because he will always make you pay dearly if you do. He might make some mistakes here and there, but in the moments that matter he always rises to the occasion. He had been near flawless in the playoffs and in the Superbowl especially. Super Bowl 57 was the game where although his passing yards were just 182, that doesn't tell the whole story. His defense couldn't stop Jalen, but whenever he was on the field he made sure his team didn't get anything less than 6 points. Even now as his three other peers: Lamar, Joe, and Josh are having phenomenal seasons with Josh being the clear frontrunner for MVP, they are still miles behind him. Patrick has already won the regular season MVP award twice and even won a Super Bowl in one of those seasons, no player has ever accomplished that feat in 24 years. His goal is always a Super Bowl title, individual accolades don't matter to him.

From a pure talent perspective, he’s better than Brady. He just needs the hardware now. IMO he only needs 5 or 6 rings to be the GOAT. His mobility alone is better than Brady.

Pretty much every QB who has ever played is better than Brady from a talent perspective. Brady came into the league as a throwaway pick at the end of the draft, and through hard work and dedication molded himself into one of the all time greats despite his complete lack of natural athletic talent.

I'd argue if he does the 3-peat he won't need 5-6 rings to be the GOAT. I believe the 3-peat is a good enough achievement on its own to make him the greatest QB of all time. (Just an opinion from your average Mahomes fan though)

The way to answer that is to pick which one you would take as a rookie, knowing what you know now, if you were the GM of a team and drafting a QB. You'd be a fool not to take Mahomes.
@acidwizard6528
@acidwizard6528 Ай бұрын
Pretty obvious. Mahomes was a top 10 pick in the 1st round while Tom Brady was a throwaway pick at the end of the draft. The difference is Mahomes has all the physical gifts and came into the league as an elite QB while Brady shaped himself into an elite QB through hard work and preparation over many years. Mahomes won't be as productive late in his career as Brady was, and Brady wasn't as productive early in his career as Mahomes was.

He is better than TB12 up to this point by far. TB 12 got better, and his ceiling was lower than Mahomes’ ceiling is for sure! TB12 is referencing that he wished he could have done these scramble things that more QB’s can do today. And Mahomes’ is the best scrambler. Better than Lamar you ask? Yes because scrambling is not about getting the 1st down, it’s about keeping the play alive until you can make “the play”. 90% of the time, the play must be to throw to your guy, get your team involved. Nobody should be sitting back to watch or trying to merely block for the QB. Lamar does too much and therefore cannot win. It’s pretty much the same thing with Josh Allen. He ends up doing too much. Mahomes knows that it’s not supposed to be the QB that does everything or too much. He has the vision to get the ball to his guys. Lamar and Josh hear that, but they are not quite able to do that so they gotta carry their teams in hopes of winning, but they have not been able to win. Mahomes is the best scrambler and best QB ever.
@acidwizard6528
@acidwizard6528 Ай бұрын
Yeah, Mahomes is better. I don't think he'll have the longevity that Brady had though. Mahomes' game is highly dependent on his athleticism while Brady's specialty was his knowledge, savvy, and preparation. Mahomes runs one way, throws across his body, scrambles from the pocket etc. while Brady stood in one place and dissected defenses with precision passes. As players and generally everybody ages, their physical aptitudes slowly deteriorate starting in their 30s. You can't run as fast, throw as hard, change direction as quickly, take longer to recover from exercise and injury. That wasn't a problem for Tom Brady because he just stayed in the pocket and picked defenses apart so it didn't matter if his athleticism was fading since he didn't rely on it like Mahomes does. IMO the last ten years of Tom Brady's career from 35 to 45 will be more productive than Mahomes at that age, while conversely the early part of Mahomes career will and has been more productive than Tom's. There's a lot of other factors to consider like how the league has changed since Brady's early days when passing wasn't as prevalent and a 4,000 yard season was an outlier for any QB, and now most QBs have 4,000 yard seasons. Also there's a 17th game in the season now, and extra playoff teams so comparing their stats is like comparing apples to oranges at this point.

Anyone who talks about Brady beating him head-to-head in the playoffs/SB is not being completely honest about the comparison because Mahomes was just 23 in his first year as a starter when he lost in the AFC playoff game and just 25 when he lost without any significant starting O-linemen when he lost the SB. He was a baby vs the GOAT and that's not a fair comparison vs what TB went up against with one of the best Ds in the NFL. Mahomes didn't have a D until after Brady retired.

Brady was just 24 as a starter when he inherited a horrible Patriot team that was 5-13 under Belichick and after week 2 of the 2001 season when Brady got his first start Brady took them to the SB, was SB MVP and the team went 14-3 - In year 2 at age 25 Brady led the NFL in TD's passing So let me help you with the math > *5-13 .277 Win%* (0-2 to start off the 2001 season) to *14-3 .823 Win%* all in 4 months Mahomes inherited a playoff team from the year before And it's a two way street champ - Brady was 41 years old when he walked into Arrowhead Stadium as an underdog and beat The Chiefs in the AFC final and put up 37 boody points . I never followed Brady that close. I have always been a Chiefs fan. I will say the way Tom has treated Mahomes has made me respect him a lot. It tells me alot about the man. We will see how long Patrick plays and his career numbers at the end. If Patrick 3 peats then for the immediate future I would be fine with having two GOATS. I mean hell, we can have 4 genders, so why not 2 GOATS.

Even if Mahomes had 7 Super Bowl rings (like the actual GOAT has) he still wouldn't be even with Brady as the differences in offensive talent surrounding them is startling. The fact Brady did what he did with who he had is remarkable.

Here is my look at it as a chiefs fan. As a base, no he is not better yet. However I think a very fair and pretty factual point weather people want to believe it or not I think mahomes is the most athletic QB of all time. The way he is able to contorted his body is wild. And on top of making throws no quaterback has ever made he could have gon pro in baseball and basketball. Thats my view on it. But he has a real shot at being the greatest.

I’m a Chiefs fan in KC. Brady is still the GOAT without question. Brady has 10 Super Bowl appearances. 2nd is John Elway with 5. Let that sink in. Brady has 7 SB wins next closest are Montana and Bradshaw with 4. Let that sink in. And if not for the Patriots defense failing him in the final 35 seconds of the 2007 season Super Bowl, Brady would have finished 19-0. And let’s not forget Brady’s greatest SB comeback against the Falcons in 2017, down 28-3 late in the 3rd quarter.

@@jmccullough975 Wilt actually won 2 NBA Titles. And the Celtics almost every year had the best talent. Russell played with superstars. Back then the Celtics had 3-7 future HOFers for Russell to play with. Most seasons, Wilt was the only HOFer on his team. And yet Chamberlain’s teams lost 4 Game 7 games against the Celtics by a combined 9 points. So Chamberlain almost beat all those future HOFers by himself. Remember Michael Jordan? Jordan couldn’t win an NBA Title until Magic and Bird were at the end of their careers. Furthermore, Larry Bird was 24-11 against Jordan including 6-0 against Jordan in the playoffs. You think Bird was better than Jordan?

Brady is clearly more accomplished at this point,but Mahomes is the better player. Mahomes can make every play Brady can make. Brady could never make many of the plays that Mahomes routinely makes. While Brady clearly had a good arm, he never had the arm talent that Mahomes has. Brady was never very mobile either, although his pocket mobility was good. Mahomes can do things with his legs that Brady could never do. Make Brady more athletic and you have Mahomes.
@acidwizard6528
@acidwizard6528 Ай бұрын

@@acidwizard6528 good points. One thing to consider is Mahomes CAN learn how to pick teams apart from inside the pocket. While he has definitely improved in that area, he has a ways to go to get close to Brady in that regard, but he absolutely can. Will he? Only time will tell.
