Meowth has influenced me more than anything in my childhood. He showed me that with practice anybody could do anything. A pokemon could speak English and all he had to do was practice. Not find some unrealistic relic that doesn't exist, just practice and struggle. Being a self taught well developer is something like meowth learning to speak.

Honestly i loved my N64 and PS1, then went the Dreamcast route so i only played gamecube at my friend's house, then got PS2 and never looked back..but then years later we'd drink and have Melee tournaments with our friends and band mates through high school and college, and i eventually played all the RE makes on an emulator It's definitely a beloved console, just didn't have a huge library, especially not compared to PS2 which has like 100 of the greatest games of all time
@Tential1
@Tential1 2 жыл бұрын
@@KaladinVegapunk If you're a hardcore gamer, sure. But for people who don't get through many games, the gc library is amazing. And it has a lot of multi-player gems. So ps2 would be fun if I was an only child, but with siblings close to my age, GameCube just got played all the time. Ps2 was too much of a single player experience. That's why I always spent most my time on Nintendo consoles. Multi-player, until we got internet based gaming being mainstream, and then Xbox because better infrastructure.

@artfulstrafer3436
@artfulstrafer3436 2 жыл бұрын
@@420malbania4 Sure. It came out long after the N64 began the entire stick revolution. It was a direct response to the N64 making the PlayStation seem outdated. Especially in the approach to 3D games. Sony's early design ethos was just: NINTENDO+ PS1 controller is SNES controller + two extra buttons. SONY dual-shock is N64 + an extra analogue-stick. The first original game to feature vibration feedback was STARFOX 64. Which plugged a rumble pak, into the N64's original controller slot for memory cards. The first game with the origins of modern FPS controls is N64's Turok: Dinosaur Hunter. Which features the now discarded *look-spring method of analogue controller FPS. As default. In the middle of 1996, Goldeneye soon featured controller FPS without the lookspring. Even with its bumbling "legacy" options, a proper modern look arrangement was available. In fact Goldeneye even features the mode where you could play with two N64 controllers, for true Dual "stick" input. And with a rumble pak in one or each, it makes Goldeneye the first true modern dual-shock FPS control. Sony wouldn't release the dual-shock controller until the end of that same year. 2 years after the release of the PlayStation. And over a year after the N64.

@@filetofish7688 neither in creation nor release. The N64 was delayed a while, during which time Sega had time to prep a counter to the since revealed N64 controller. Even with the N64's delay, the N64 stick preceded the Saturn stick by a third of a year. Which had the pack in title of NIGHTS INTO DREAMS to work with it. And it was the N64 step that prompted its happening. Anyone trying to deny the definitive importance and influence of the N64 controller is exercising a grudge.

@TSnintendogamer true, but had far less competition. The GC faced against the greatest selling console of all time, as well as Microsoft's online innovative Xbox. Cartridges weren't unreliable. In fact they were far more reliable than the scratch prone CDs of the era. The reason they sucked was because they were expensive, difficult to produce/code for and couldn't store nearly as much data as CDs. CDs were superior in all ways *except* reliability, although the main reason Nintendo chose cartridges over CDs was because it made piracy more difficult. Also, Perfect Dark is superior to Goldeneye. Come at me.

The Gamecube will always have a soft place in my heart, I got mine in 2006 after playing the Simpson's Hit and Run at a babysitter's house, this is also the same place where I played Grand Theft Auto III at age 5 that same year but that's besides the point. When I got home after being completely obsessed with the cute graphics, fun controller and gameplay of GTA meets Homer Simpson, I pleaded to my mother to get me one, and after a trip to an EB Games, she came back with a new GameCube console, controller, some games including Donkey Kong Jungle beat and it's Bongos, MarioParty 4, 5, 6, 7, Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Old Door, Sonic Mega Collection (The game that made me into a Sonic Fan along with Sonic The Hedgehog Genesis on the GBA), and The Simpson's Hit and Run... I was so happy. I since got other games for it like Sonic Adventure DX, Crazy Taxi, and Mario Kart Double Dash. We got our Wii in 2007 and the party continued, just add in Wii sports.

@StoneBoiii420 no, im proud of the countless memories of playing and laughing with my siblings and cousins. Proud of countless sleepovers with friends from school. Proud of the countless times my parents placed the top game on my Christmas list under the tree, knowing that I would be surprised and spend a happy Christmas that day. Proud of being a kid and everything that surrounds it. You didn't stare at a screen in those days like today. It's not the same as kids with a tablet all day. It was different. Video games in that era were a very social activity, games were designed to spend time together with family and friends. There was no grinding, level up mega evolution BS. There was no numb pointless clickity angry birds bs. There was a lot of jumping, laughter, fighting screaming, happy quality time. Now this is the part were you feel stupid for being a comment troll.

@@prico3358 I grew up with Atari as my first console in the 80s, and through the years ive come to see that, although different than tablets and KZbin based stuff, it's all really the same thing, just getting better imo. Getting better how? These technologies are all getting better at making the wildest fantasies come true, and making reality fade away. Virtual reality will take over, like in the movie Ready Player one, and than if the world makes it far enough, where we walk, talk and eat on the streets will make it an absolute NECESSITY to live with on our heads, and will totally blind us. They are taking what makes rich people's lives the best (convenience), and making it seem like we have something, when really we dont have squat. Seriously I can see the Matrix becoming a real thing. I mean millions of homeless people and impoverished had smartphones when they came out, b4 I did! Wth? And it was acceptable!? No freaking way. Huh? What rich people have that we dont is the ability to purchase life longevity and safety (while it lasts). We're being weeded out, whether on accident or on purpose.

I had a GameCube back then, my buddy had one as well. We played Melee for days, and it was glorious. I had some of the best game experiences ever on that console. Metroid Prime and F-Zero GX are, and will forever be, some of the greatest games ever made. In fact, more than ten years later I decided to finally finish the story mode in GX (never got past the fourth chapter on normal difficulty as a kid) and played it on an emulator. It felt just as great, maybe even better. Once you finish the story mode on very hard, you'll have memories of victory that stick with you for a long time. Thanks, Gamecube. We had an awesome time.

Honestly it's the same thing that killed the N64. They used proprietary media (which held far less data) for the games instead of standard discs because they were TERRIFIED of piracy. Also, how did this video COMPLETELY neglect to mention REmake, RE0 and Killer 7 as prime examples of “adult” games.....???

Don't you have anything better to do with your time?" It's so blatant I can't believe no one got sued over it. @2005 Cool Year Lol so anyone who disagrees with you is a fanboy who bashes your favorite game? Gotcha. I didn't say that Mario Galaxy was a bad game, but it's not the best 3D one. At least Sunshine innovated it's gameplay by designing it's mechanic around the game design, instead of the other way around like Galaxy did. I always felt like Galaxy would have been an amazing game if it hadn't been released on the Wii, that way the game would not have had those lame ass tacked on motion controls that didn't add anything to the game, which is why it feels more like a "Mario-lite" because everything is chopped up into smaller levels instead of bigger areas to explore. Mario Odyssey is the game that Mario Galaxy should have been, and it would have been an amazing game like that if it hadn't been released on the Wii. That is the reason why I haven't bothered with Mario Galaxy again because it was never that good of a game to begin with, and everyone else I know who bought the collection felt the same way, but don't let that stop you from enjoying the "best" 3D Mario game, kid.
