Man, I just saw a guy crash into his car the other day when landing. Came in facing himself, flicked the controls right when he meant left and bam, crash at 3ft off the ground! Such a bummer!

@@DavidManningvlog Man that sucks! I know It definitely can get confusing when your coming back to your self facing your self! The way I was taught back when I started flying Rc planes was "when coming back toward your self think of it as a table top your trying to keep balanced if it tips to the left move your stick to the left and vice versa" that has helped me a lot throughout the years with flying drones and planes Line Of Sight.

Great tip! Another option is hand-launch and hand-catch as FlytPath (another San Diegan) showed on his channel. This way there is no need to find a clear flat patch on the ground.

Yes! Hand launching, I'm all for! Hand landing definitely depends on which drone you have. With the Mini, it's a bit trickier and I've had it nip my finger tips a couple times. Now I just put it down to the ground🤣

So rad Nikki! Just get to an open field and work on single input flights. Any cinematic shots are almost always single input. Get to a cool spot, then just do a forward slide for 7 seconds. Boom, gorgeous shot! Or side slide for 7 seconds. Boom, gorgeous! It's when people move the drone mid slide that shots start looking wonky!

Man, still so bummed that the Karma Drone didn't pan out for GoPro. It was such a clever idea! Obviously, I would go DJI and I would just look at what your budget is and what you need. Even the Mini 2 is a super dope drone, but I really like the Air 2S. With a 1" sensor, it's hard to go wrong with that drone

I still have the Air 2 and it's still pretty great. I would say though if you're looking to upgrade, check out the Air 2S. It's an insane drone that's still super small, but that has a 1" sensor. Bananas good shots out of that thing!

And many times that won't really work if you have conflicting goals BUT, even just rotating the way YOU are facing to match the drone, or as best you can help, it can be almost as useful. . . It's a 101 RC learning tool.

Good luck on the Mavic 3 and I hope you're not dropping 5 grand on that overpriced one....DJI lost their mind charging that much just for a Hasselblad.....not worth it. I'd just get an Inspire 2 that comes with a bad ass camera for 5 grand!

David, my new 4K drone footage is choppy and not smooth. Every 2-3 seconds it glitches. Very frustrating! I never had this when I shot 2K. It’s not my micro SD card. I bought the one DJI and others recommended. What else could it be? Long time viewer when you were at 8K. Keep it up!

Man, bummed to hear that Rick. Which drone are you flying? Glitching that I've seen in the past is either from a bad SD card, or a bad sensor readout. Sounds like you have a fast enough card though. Try viewing the footage within the DJI Fly app and let me know if it glitches while in there!

Great tip! I started doing this the last couple times I took the drone out. Maybe it's because I ran it into a tree with it facing me and landing, maybe not. Haha. It sure makes landing a lot more intuitive, especially since I always watch the drone as it comes down.

That’s a really good tip! I do this every time i fly my drone because i’ve seen a lot of people get hit in the FACE! Lmao! They face the drone towards them when launching and then when they want to go forward, it goes straight to their face! 🤣 sorry for laughing but it’s just funny. What drone do you have? I have the Mini 2 because i didn’t want to get a license and all, but now having flown a few flights, i kinda regret for getting just the Mini. Lol! I want to get maybe an Air 2s.
