This series is just awesome because it shows, if you play every aspect of the game it can get complicated. BUT you see aswell and especially in this episode that you can figure it out and it can feel rewarding. Even if you wont nail it in the first run

You don't need to be near a planet to drop the Command Center, just in system. Only time you need to be at the physical planet is to pick up materials from the customs office.

I've been doing PI off & on for awhile, & your setup made my eye twitch! 😅 For what you needed though, you did fine. I've always said the worst way to do PI is not to do PI, so nice work!

You can do PI while docked if you click Agency - > resource harvesting -> PI. It has a nifty UI to view all your PI from anywhere in space. Also this was really amusing and relatble :D Half a year ago i was trying to get into PI. Im pretty set up by now and have quite a lot of knowledge but figuring it out was making my head hurt

Man this series has made me laugh until my sides hurt, wife thinks im going nuts but she doesnt play eve so she doesnt get it. The idea is SO COOL!! To be honest i can totally see the appeal to doing this challange and ive been fighting with myself if i want to try it. Im just not sure what lowsec npc corp i would want to be in. But its honestly been very interesting to see how its going and how its done. Very cool idea being so self sufficent. I love thr IDEA of making everything i use. Nog sure about the actuality of it but the idea is so cool and fun to watch for sure!! Great videos sir!

(half way through vid at this point) you can add more heads on the extractor for very little extra CPU/power usage also better way to to routing is have storage facilities set as the destination for the extracted resources, the factories can be told to get materials from those, either by source pulling by the factory, or routing from the storage facility to the factory, ive not done PI for a while so you might not need to do this much for the small quantities of materials you need

Did you start planetary resource harvesting after this episode on other accounts? I was just wondering if the ISK is worth the effort.

I did not. But I can't answer for you the question of whether the isk is worth the effort. My understanding is that once you have all the skills trained to max and have put in the research to solidly understand optimized setups, you can bring in something like 300m per character slot per month, for probably about 2 hours of work (again per character per month) resetting extractors, moving resources between planets, hauling everything to market, and managing sell orders. For me, I find the PI gameplay tedious enough that that's not worth it. But then, my main already has more isk than I know what to do with, and I'm fortunate to have IRL finances that are stable enough that I never even consider PLEXing for Omega. If any of those things are different for you, the balance may very easily shift in favour of optimizing PI.

Satan himself designed EVE's PI interface. I have 77 PI planets across 5 accounts and having to micromanage the planetary UI is the worst part of my week. By the way, the reason that you were seeing "2" as the quantity for the resource income is because the column width is too low to display the entire number. If you widen the column, it shows the full number. This is just one a thousand UI failures for PI.
