Lol. I can't tell you how many minutes/hours, I've watched, enlarged, rewound, repeat you're "got it right" section! Not b/c it's bad. But because it's the best, clearest, orderly video on looper adjustment. YOU'RE GREAT! I'm dense & apparently not mechanically inclined & should have never have had that caramel latte first! But now I'll attempt it again. I can't afford to take it to the not so local fix-it shop! So thank you a million times!!! Salute!

Thanks for sharing this. There is solace in the fact that I am not alone. ("Nope!" That was so funny I was laughing so loud, very entertaining) 😁🤙

Thank you for these videos. I just started advertising around my town to fix vintage sewing machines. I am not as skilled as you are, but I can aspire!

Hi I have a vintage pfaff serger that runs continually when the pedal is plugged in with out depressing it. Do you have any ideas as to what the problem could be . The pedal is a new one so it has to be a switch connector inside the serger. Your insight would be appreciated thank you.

I'm not familiar with how that one works.

Your pedal is letting through a constant voltage or the constant voltage running your lamp is somehow getting to the motor. Try cleaning out the pedal really well or working out where voltage is getting through.Test the foot pedal's resistance with a multimeter. There should be no continuity when it is not depressed. If the foot pedal checks out, look for loose wires in the machine. I think that it is more likely you have 2 bad foot pedals. I have seen bad pedals cause similar issues and fry starter windings on motors so they needed to be turned by hand to get going.

Thank you. I will check for loose wires in my machine. I'm a bit scared to mess with the wires as my machine is aPfaff hobby lock and I don't want to mess up the computer as the machine runs very well.

Don't pull on them, just check visually for anything that looks out of place. A multimeter could help greatly as well, as you can diagnose by checking for continuity between the computer's contacts and the motors contacts as well as the light and the motor. None should have continuity if your machine is only run by a pedal and no auto functions. If you have always had this problem, it's very possible a previous owner rewired the terminal where the plug goes in and screwed it up.

I just had my Brother serger serviced at a reputable repair shop for a timing issue, but as soon as I got it back I noticed a new issue that wasn't there before. One of my tension dials (second from the right) won't loosen! I can barely turn it with my hand, and all of my stitches are so tight that when i serge two knits together the seam has no stretch whatsoever. Even when I turn the dial down to 0, it won't loosen! Do you have any idea how this might have happened, and was it the result of shoddy servicing?
