In the 80s, it was very trendy to "have your colors done." In my opinion, it was one of the better fashion-related things I did. I am a cool summer. And once I changed my colors, I felt amazing. I was given a color swatch wheel on a key ring that I could bring shopping with me.

I don’t own floral shoes, a plaid bag, leggings, an anorak, or floral pants. So I’m on the right track! But I do have a couple of paisley shirts in warm/ rich/ subdued colors, and love them. I think paisley, like plaid and florals, just need the right coloways, size, etc. They are very traditional patterns. You just need to be mindful of their ‘look’.

There are definitely nice parkas. Need to in sub zero temps in winter feeding, collecting eggs, cleaning up after my birds. Got coveralls and my chicken poop boots too just in the yard. Come summer my neighbors probably think I'm going somewhere though when picking vegetables and tending to the gardens. 😂
@teresacarle2947 ай бұрын
😊FYI They do make more WINTER WEIGHT trench coats. I have one from Burberry of London that's quite heavy even w/o the thick insulated lining. Living in 😎LA, I zipped it out & haven't put it back. It's quite comfy for our 30-50° chill. It stays in the closet once it hits 70°. I also have a vintage suede Trench from Oleg Cassini that is also true winter weight coat. That beautiful coat is so heavy, it only gets worn a few times per year at most. 😬Maybe they're NOT warm enough for an ❤extended stay in your subzero🥶 Northern temps, but I daresay I could survive in either trench for a short🤏 holiday duration w/a bit more strategic layering in your neck of the woods. 😉Once wore a navy wool peacoat in Washington DC for a business trip during a freak snow storm🌨. I was wearing skirt suits w/tights, long underwear, wool socks, & high boots that I would remove when I got to my destination for heels👠. Most of my co-workers who came from out West ended up buying new 🛍coats & boots while there. 💗I whole heartedly agree with you about the value of anoraks. I only wear the lightweight ones here, but I imagine yours are rated for extreme temps. Would skip "style" over substance in order to keep warm, dry, & comfy in your climate. 💚Bridget from Cali☘️ (using my pal's YT acct)

What is an Anarsyk ?
@teresacarle2947 ай бұрын
😊ANORAK. It's a 🏃♀️sporty &/or 🏜outdoorsy type🏕 of ALL WEATHER jacket. It can be made of pure cotton or be a synthetic fiber. They are often breathable & have lovely moisture wicking properties. TYPES: down, insulated, fur lined, casual, fleece, & soft shell. They're quite comfy, & usually 🌬wind & 🌧rain resistant at the very minimum. They can also be insulated for snow🌨 & extreme temps🥶. It zips on & off, but in some cases it can be a pull-over. It has lots of useful pockets for tech📲, keys🔑, & a hood tucked in a compartment when needed. It typically goes just passed your hips, but they make longer ⬇️ anoraks that rival a parka or puffer style jacket too. The lightweight versions work very well year round in 😎LA for ⛰️hiking or walking🚶♀️. If it's particularly cold out😬, I might wear a hoodie underneath it. Wouldn't trade mine for anything. 🤫Marie-Ann would not be pleased that I've worn one at couple of outdoor 🎶 concert venues here. 🚍When I leave the Valley🚉 w/triple digit heat🥵, I can tie it around my waist w/o causing any further discomfort or wrinkling. On the South side of Santa Monica Mtns, it can ⬇️ drop to the🌡high 60s/low 70s while we're boiling over in a heatwave @110°F. 👥️️Folks from the West Side will be putting on their ❄️Winter parkas & 🧣scarves🤣, but my light anorak will keep me quite content🙂. It looks smart, but it's 💯% def NOT a FASHION JACKET. Sometimes it's a case of function winning over form (i.e., style). 💚Bridget from Cali☘️ (using my pal's YT acct)

@@teresacarle294 sometimes it's a question of temperature over style. I live in the North (VERY North!!) of the country, and it can get so, so cold. 🥶 I probably look like the Michelin man sometimes in winter, but comfort over fashion. If it's below zero, I don't care anymore. And we all here are in the same boat anyway. 😄
@altitudeiseverything31633 ай бұрын
@@teresacarle294 I’m with you…. I wouldn’t want to live a life that didn’t *require* several types of anoraks: for XC skiing, snowshoeing, hiking in both warm and cooler weather, gardening, etc. I live in a Colorado mountain town and I’d look very silly (and I’d be uncomfortable) walking my dog wearing a trench coat in my rural neighborhood, with its dirt roads, dust, mud, snow, ice, and strong winds. 😂 I love wearing dressier clothes, but practicality dictates that I usually limit those to city use. Personal style always needs to accommodate *lifestyle* and weather challenges.
