Cat here being the real mvp of support. I love how you both support eachother when you can see how disappointed the other is when a soap doesn't come out how you want it to 😊

I waited for the reveal for my comment. I can see the flannel pattern and im so happy i can see individual squares and i think with practice you can improve. I watched your stripes get better over time, i believe are smart and creative and have the skills to figure out how it works. I love yalls soaps keep up the good work, i believe in you guys.

Awwww! You're so freaking sweet! Thank you! I do think giving it another shot is worthwhile now that I've had a few weeks from when this was filmed. Thanks, Bee!

That was an amazing attempt Raven! Especially without practice! Soap Challenge Club has done a plaid soap and I think they made each color in individual loafs first and then placed the cut pieces together with the filler color being the final pour if that makes sense 😊
@CatandRaven3 ай бұрын
They have?? Oh my gosh, I need to go look at that and see how they do it. Soap Challenge Club is so intimidating because everyone is so talented. I bet they have great ideas for how to do it.

I think you did well with a new tool. It’s always hard to work with a precise vision in your head to get it to be a reality. That is one of the hard things about being a maker. Good job. A checkered soap is hard to make.

I'm going to get it right eventually! Seems like the natural progression from a layered soap girly.

My son once had a Grinch doll whose heart was supposed to light up when you hugged him. The pressure switch in his belly got shaken out of place during shipping, so we had to pinch his crotch to make his heart light up. His flaw made him soooo much better. F**k up often and with all your might. You're creative and brave and fun, and you're the best of all possible Ravens.

LOL omg! I'm dying that's so funny!

I am so here for the extra sound effects. And Raven, there is something to be said for a "creative interpretation" of the farmer, right? Lol. Side note: as much as I don't enjoy seeing you in distress, your pouting is super adorable in the most wholesome way.

Haha I'm glad people have a good time watching me flail around 😂 I think it's funny when I'm editing it for sure!

What if instead of soap dough you did short bars of the other colors and cut them into long rectangles. Then combine them all with the red. That way it's all just regular cold process. Hope that made sense 😅
@FirebladesSong4 ай бұрын
Yeah, like they did the Minecraft dirt block years ago.
@CatandRaven4 ай бұрын
Yeah! That's kinda what I'm thinking for a second attempt. Pre-pour some layers and cut them down into strips. We'll see!

What a cool concept! I'm excited to see if there's a redemption soap in a similar pattern somewhere down the road. Can't imagine the pressure of trying a new technique for the first time on camera 😅 y'all are wild

I would really like to try again, now that it's been nearly a month since I made it originally! I think with a different technique I could make it work.

We're getting there with it! Now that I've had some distance from it I do think I want to try again. Got a whole new technique to try!

Raaaaaven, honey, I know you're disappointed but I love it for your first try! it isn't perfect but it definitely got the point across :) I hope you sell out regardless! It's a steep learning curve trying a new tool with high ambitions, give yourself some grace

Thank you! 💕 I've had some distance from it and I think I have some ideas for how I would re-do it already!

Ok this was really ambitious and watching you make it I think the tool was the biggest issue. I hope you try plaid again someday because this was cute even if it wasn't what you envisioned.

Question. Would you ve able to make full bars in each of these colors, then cut them into even long rectangles, then use a little thin layer of non-hardened soap to glue the small long rectangles together to make the flannel design?
@CatandRaven3 ай бұрын
That is exactly the technique I'd like to try next! Great minds!
@InfamousSpark4 ай бұрын
I had an idea, but no clue if this would work. What if you pour a layer of trial by fire and a layer of the oxide ahead of time (in seperate molds) and precut them into 4 strips each to create 'square' inbeds? That way you might get the desired outcome, but I am not sure if that makes any problems for cutting later on.
@CatandRaven4 ай бұрын
This is exactly how I was thinking I would do it if I try again!
@tanyabonnett41744 ай бұрын
Maybe if you hadn't taken the boards out at all, and just scraped them down between colours. But your braver than me trying to make plaid
@CatandRaven3 ай бұрын
I was worried that A) the boards would get stuck (which is hilarious in its own way, honestly) and B) pulling them out after the soap had set would leave a big gap where they had been. We did wash them between colors but I think I'm just not made for that tool lol
