I played world of tanks for over 7 years. Very fun game. The pay to win aspect was always a background thing for me because with some effort, I could use the standard ammunition to pen premium tanks. But every year, the premium tanks became more expensive and had more outrageous stats and it became more and more necessary to pay for premium ammunition and premium time to sustain gameplay. It went from a fun game to a second job. And it was really stressing me out because I wanted to stay competitive and hang out with friends and clanmates and collect all the tanks. I burnt out and could not play anymore. It takes way too much effort grinding crews and getting to tier 10. I don't mind some effort to get something special but you would think after 50,000 battles and almost 60% winrate a player would have collected most of the tanks but I wasn't even at half.

​@@paranparanovic3923 Your reaction is most likely the definition of someone that hasn't been around WoT for 7+ years. Things were wild back there, like REALLY WILD. Imagine that reaching a T6 with a non-friendly tech tree could easily take you up to 4/6 weeks back in the day depending on vehicle stats and matchmaking, only to reach T9 in nearly 2/4 months without premium + good games, even T10 is on its own separate league, you could even stall on reaching it depending of the chosen T9's vehicle and its difficulty, i still remember struggling with the E75 on my way to E100. I don't know about you, but time to play is limited for a lot of people, nonetheless to say the skill to have great consistancy/earn good amounts of exp. is something not many people had back there. To wrap up: you think Gaijin has had terrible business practices over time? You can look at Wargaming at literally anytime during Wot's history.

Don´t know about WT but in wot that thing is a tier 5 and sees quite decent MM it does quite well for its tier but is kinda glass cannon, extremely annoying support tank when you fire HE and lighter targets due to high damage.The swedish volunteers likely saw KV-2 in the continuation war and send a postcard home, we gonna need something like dat!

@@apyllyonyoure a couple years off there buddy, the ikv72 (and later the upgunned 103) was first designed in 1952. all they wanted was a self propelled infantry gun to, well support infantry. so thats why its shape is kinda generic.

@@Thekilleroftanks im well aware of the Ikv 72 and 103 histories and that they were used as a wide variety of testbeds for other applications, such as spg and mortarcarrier prototypes befor modified to carry ATGM and SAM systems, that joke fell kinda flat on its face. The swedish command was well aware of the stug and many did fight in volunteer units during the continuation war in eastern karelian front and near the Svir region and even took part at Tali-ihantala, so they were kinda following the trend their way, it´s like the ikea meatballs but in tank form.

I used to play wot back when premium shells cost real money and there were actual players instead of bots. it was always uptier. I was rank 3, fighting rank5, then got to rank 5 and fighting rank 7 and I was basically whale food because if you dont pay for premium, you only get uptiers. War thunder is kinda similar with premium and uptier/downtier

thats a lie, outside of light tanks, you would generally have an even spread of tiers of games, with only certain times of the year where you would find black holes in the matchmaking, generally being tier 7 when the yearly tournaments would happen. you likely only remember being uptiered constantly because generally the human brain remembers bad memories more than good ones. also the fact you didnt bring up the mm changes also helps youre a newish player. seeing for like 3 years after the release there was a 4/3 mm spread for games.

Personally, not a fan of WOT, used to be, but not anymore that WT and other simulators came out. Mainly due to the RNG accuracy, Wargamming simplifying their hitboxs so that actual weakpoints no longer exist (IE commander's cupola, MG port, Driver's hatch, the T-34s shot trap ring turret) and I was never satisfied with the Hitpoint system. At least with WT, when I whiff a shot, it's all on me, with WOT you wiff a shot, it's mostly due to RNJesus

Its an autoreloader, it reloads one by one the reload gets longer the more shots you shoot, where as an autoloader in wot has a certain number of shots and once you shoot them all it has a long reload

yup. its meant to mimic the tray fed semi autoloaders some tanks used. and was meant to help said tanks be actually good. seeing the chi ri is a good example when an auto loader isnt the be all end all for a tank.

Typically WoT vehicles that have an A at the end are vehicles with auto loaders, that or they’re howitzer based guns. As someone who used to play a lot of WoT, heavy tank play styles are pretty much learning where your armor is the strongest and using that armor in the best possible manner. - American, British (disregarding british tier V-VII), French and Swedish heavies tended to have most of their armor on their turret making them best at hull down positions. - German Heavies tend to have thick but flat armor making them really only useful for angling. - German and Japanese Super Heavies (as well as the aforementioned British tier V-VII) were big hulking behemoths with nigh impenetrable armor at the cost of concealment and mobility. They were best at serving as breakthrough vehicles (as well as the unfortunate case of being prime targets for artillery.) - Russian, Chinese and Polish Heavies were basically the most well rounded and frankly OP heavies of the game. With thick slanted or pike nose armor and a ridiculously high speed (for a heavy) and powerful guns at the cost of accuracy and precision as well as gun depression. They’re mostly the best at close range brawls but I’ve also found that they’re pretty useful just about everywhere else.

Useful tip: if you have your crosshairs on the enemy and you see that the enemy tank's border gets red you can right click with the mouse to lock onto it

Do you actually see where your shot went in this game? Watching the video I don't even see where the shell hits. The levels are more vibrant and it looks really fresh in comparison to WT, but I feel like I couldn't play this for more than 5 minutes with how the shooting feels like you have no idea what you did actually hit.

As a WoT veteran I have several suggestions to make for your convenience. 1. You can change the enemy display tags to show the vehicle model under Marker in the settings tab. 2. Remember to stock consumables like repair kit, first aid, and fire extinguisher. You can enable auto resupply to make this easier but you need to manually install them on every vehicle. 3. You can change enemy outlines to shade differently depending on what cover they are behind (impenetrable or penetrable) under the Outlining tab in settings. Can't wait for more videos about the tank game without planes.

WoT was often screwed with things like KV-1 and KV-2 being same tank and having access to ZiS-6 107mm gun on same tier as Pz. IV with Panther "schmallturm" turret and long 75mm(if you want long 75mm on Pz.IV, why not use Daimler Benz turret instead?) and those two somehow being "equal" or how KV-1S was just IS-2 in disguise that zoomed around. But that's 2010-2011. Then things started improving, more info started to get dug out and available on the net, some ridiculous design decisions were fixed, more historical vehicles began appearing, the tier 8 premium wasn't a plague yet and many people in fact had gotten T34 as one for reaching top tier in US tech tree before it was reconfigured and moved. The game was developing, it grew, it improved and then... idk what happened. I feel like we've all expected WoT and Ground Forces to compete against each other and thus forced to become even better, but instead? I feel like WG and Gaijin very soon realised that they're not competing and that vehicle enthusiasts can be milked a dozen times harder before they'd feel fighting for same money. And then a flood of premiums started. I dropped the game around 2014, but many times have I heard of people, whom were left by their family because they had "terminal" stage of WoT or WT, spending their cash on more and more premiums instead of their family. I stopped following the game around the release of Poland as it turned into complete alien world where even "hypothetical" stopped being a justification. I liked the work of designers, I liked gameplay, I just tired of it. Same as I grew tired of WT and their marathons and races to the top just a bit later. Still following some content creators from the community though. Many left or moved on, many diversified, several died. A decade is a long time as it turns out. Always makes me wonder how are the folks in WoW or EvE holding it together for even longer. No idea where that rant came from ¯⁠\⁠_⁠(⁠ツ⁠)⁠_⁠/⁠¯

"That mighta been a kill steal" It's been about a decade since I last played WoT religiously, but kill stealing isn't really a thing since XP and credits is determined mainly via damage done. I'm pretty sure the killing blow comes with extra rewards, but if someone does 95% of the damage and you come in with the last hit you're probably not getting much of a reward. The only thing is if you're really after getting the kill counts specifically for whatever reason you might have.
