How NOT to send your cards on TCGPlayer

Thank you for addressing the scotch tape over the toploader, it is impossible to remove, and if you can get it off it leaves a bunch of residue that ruins the toploader. I like to reuse toploader for sending out my orders or for my higher value cards in my collection and it just turns them into garbage which is a shame since they are more pricey. If you have to use tape to keep the cards from coming out, I recommend this: Use blue painters tape. I have noticed that it sticks on very well without leaving nasty residue and it’s easy to remove. Put the card(s) in a penny sleeve and put them in the toploader upside down, so if they shift in the toploader it is the penny sleeve hitting the tape rather than the cards themselves.

Thanks for sharing! As a seller myself it's interesting to see what other people are doing. Seems like more people need to learn about painters tape, scotch is a big no no if you ask me!!! Using tcgplayer envelope kit at the moment and they are nice! Quite cost effective and less plastic waste

If I use those cardboard holders, I will put the cards in perfect fit sleeves to help prevent damage from shifting. In fact I pretty much use perfect fits for all my orders because I never want people to get their cards in less than near mint

I use perfect fits on higher value cards and always put cards inside penny sleeves before putting them in top loaders or cardboard holders.

As a seller on TCGPlayer I think it is important to remember two things, First everyone of those meet the requirements/guidelines of the TCGPlayer seller documentation/requirements.More importantly, Sellers are incentivised to send as cheaply as they can. The shipping rates on the site can push your listing lower, and The recommended shipping costs of $1.27 currently, barely cover the cost of materials for shipping, let alone the labor. This is even more true on a lower cost card. $1.27 for a card under $5 barely covers the cost of the stamp and the envelope. Throw in a top loader or a sleeve and your outta luck. It gets worse if there are several lower end cards. 15 cards and a total cost of $5.00 and $1.27 shipping means you are loosing money on the shipping.

Spend a little and get padded envelopes and hard card protectors. Easy.
