Good informative video.a want to ask that i have 2.5 feet tank so can i use this filter what is your opinion?
@a4fishsingapore3052 жыл бұрын
Sajid this is a very small filter with a 6w motor and manufacturer indication of a turnover of 400litres per hour. So when you add media it will be hardly 100 to 200 litres. My 2 feet tank is about 50 litres so it's approximately turning over the tank between 2 to 4 times. This on paper is not enough. But I have only a few nano fishes and loads of plants. I also use this for mechanical filteration and mainly depends on my anoxic filter for biological filteration which is keeping my fishes alive and hence this filter is more than enough for me. What is the size of your tank in litres and what is your bio load?

Sajid I saw your blood parrot tank. If you are referring to this tank then this filter is definitely not enough. Since it is a bare bottom tank then anoxic filteration will be quite difficult to achieve. You should look at daily water change for bare bottom tanks with such a huge bio load.

Is it fine to use 603 b as prefilter beciz the pump will pressure the flow to canister . Canister filter can handle the pressure comibg from 603 b ???
@a4fishsingapore3052 жыл бұрын
If you are using this as a prefilter, you will use it without the pump and depend on the main filter pump. So basically use a 603a. But in my honest opinion, I will not use these as a prefilter. The hose size is 12mm inner diameter and most filters are 16mm diameter if not 19mm.This will affect the flow a lot and waste all the power

This is not the correct way to set up. I can't see the white filter spong in the bottom. Which holds most of the dirt. Also no filter media added, which can be done.

Appreciate your feedback Fahad. It’s a common beginners misunderstanding that sponges are meant only for mechanical filteration. I am sure you are aware that a single sponge filter is more than capable of doing biological filteration. Hope this explains the last part. Now coming to the white filter sponge or floss. I don’t need this as you can see that my tanks are crystal clear. They are all cycled tank set up for around 5 years. I use bacteria to take care of my fine dirt. Don’t forget the white filter floss clogs up really fast and can crash your filter. Lastly I have at least two filter setup in all my tanks. So there is a very special reason why I setup my filters in a certain way. I am planning to do a whole series on advance filteration. Do susbscibe to my channel so that you will not miss out on any future videos.
