I can't tell you how many different vocal coaches I've gone to in person and online who have not been able to help me correct this. Somehow after a five minute video you have completely changed how my vocals sound that years of coaching hasn't! I am so thankful!

YAY! That's the miracles of Voicercise. Now imagine how much you could get from 4 CDs a DVD and a 60 page manual! Voicercise works on the scientific knowledge that we use seven muscles to sing. The coaches you've trained with only know about the vocal chords, the diaphragm and soft palate. There are 4 other muscles that controls a person's singing ability. Once they are coordinated and under your control, you can do what you want with your voice. :) And that's where the confidence comes in. You can find more answers at www.voicercise.com

Whenever I hear a recording of myself my voice sounds stuffy..not necessarily nasally...but stuffy? it makes it sound like I'm trying to hard but that's just how it sounds? I think it's because I have the type of tonque you talked about that may be more near the back.. I do a really really good job of trying to cover it up..but dang it its never going to go away completely. I really hate it. ): I just always sound stuffy like my voice is in a tunnel. I'm trying to hard.
@Voicercise7 жыл бұрын
Hi Alexis! Oh! I'm so sorry to hear you've been dealing with sounding stuffy when you sing. I know how frustrating it can be when something like that keeps happening but you don't know how to fix it! No, you don't have to just live with it. We help resolve the issues you mentioned every day. It takes a very exact steps to handling requiring that the 2 other muscles holding your tongue position in place also be strong and coordinated and under your control. That is actually very simple to do, just go to Voicercise.com and check out the voicercise singing kit. It gives you the same tools we use in our one on one voice lessons, and you can make the progress you are looking for fast.

@Voicercise7 жыл бұрын
Hi! Okay, not a problem. I'd love to help you do that. The tongue has to do 3 major things when you sing, which are exercises contained in the Voicercise singing kit. It's less the throat that you are trying to control, and more the strength of your soft palate, in relationship to your tongue. That's what actually creates the openness of your throat.

Well I have question since you said you did just about every problem a singer has came into with. A long time I practice a belt excersise and it gave me new sensation to belt like crazy but do to lack of education on how to sing I began to abused and reach for notes that I shouldn’t have reach for therefore causing me to loose powerful headvoice of mines to point where I couldn’t sustain it. Now to skip ahead I found excerises on high larynx pulled chest which began to show results immediately giving me back access to my headvoice. Now I’m becoming more and more aware to point where I learn mix voice to prevent from ever pushing and straining. So I’m to point where I can sing in mix voice but have a weak headvoice. So I started to focus on placement my range started to come back. I started to focus on tongue my voice started sound better and my range started growing but unfortunately I still got a lot of work before I can get that power back like I used to and when I do my mix voice will shine but basically I started looking into all factor that could raise my larynx breathing, vowels, tongue, jaw muscle.

@Voicercise8 жыл бұрын
You are so welcome! You are so smart for realizing that! Nasal singing is caused because of where your tongue is placed when you sing. Your tongue is one of your 8 singing muscles and it helps you to hit higher notes, improves your tone, resolves your throat being tired and tight and a lot more. It's important to know how to strengthen it, control it, use it and the other eight muscles you use to sing with. Which is all explained in the Voicercise singing kit. :) www.voicercise.com

@Voicercise7 жыл бұрын
Hi! It sounds like the difficulty you are having has to do with the lack of muscles strength in your tongue. It also has something to do with your jaw muscles being unable to form the sounds you are trying to make, as well as your ability to get your soft palate up and out of the way to get rid of the nasal sound you are hearing. You can resolve all these problems in just 15 minutes a day, with the proper exercises. Check out Voicercise.com

Hi, I just watched a singing show and a person said: "stop singing through your nose". When I sing, my nostrils become bigger, so I thought maybe that was what he meant. So since i get bigger nostrils when i sing, i thought that that is a problem. After I watched your video i found out that that's not what "singing through your nose" means, but do my bigger nostrils in any way affect my singing, or is it just because i need more air or something? Is there some way i can fix it?
@Voicercise6 жыл бұрын
Hi! I'm so glad you where able to find the solution to the problem that man gave you. We really love to hear that! As there are so many singers who get stopped by criticism that offered no solutions. The size if your nostrils in no way effects the nasality of your voice. As it is impossible to sing through your nose. There are excises to help you chortle your air better, so it does not sound nasal. You could start with practice humming while making sure your tongue is not touching your hard palate or soft palate muscle. And you can feel how it's possible that your tongue is cutting off the air. To fully handle the difficulty you are having it's necessary that you get full control of all of the muscles you use to control the way your voice sounds, in which there are 8 muscles in total. As the muscles of your tongue is kept in place mostly by the muscles around it, as in your soft palate and jaw.

Hi! Yes it does! There are some other pieces of information that that helps a singer use the singing muscles in their nose, so it is under your control. But The tongue being too close to the soft palate is one of them.
@CloudContainer6 жыл бұрын
i still didn't understand how to make my tongue rest - i'm singing from 10 months and I have all the techniques - the only problem is with the soft palate and the nasally singing I sound like I have a stuffy nose .. I thought maybe it was because I'm singing "through my nose" or maybe constricting the muscles or something. Other than what you touched on in your video, do you have any other advice on how to solve an issue like this?
@billskarsgardfan71507 жыл бұрын
I do have the same problem as you. I always feel like my airways are congested whenever I am singing.
@Voicercise7 жыл бұрын
Near your throat you have a tongue and a soft palate. To sing you have to have air travel through to your mouth. If your tongue is raised up when singing it makes the air can't go to the mouth the same, so it go though funny places, other then the month, the nose being one of them. Your difficulty is having is a tongue muscle that it out of your control. Which is controlled by the other 6 muscle you use to sing.

So I've had heard many vocal coaches say to lift the soft palate but whenever I look in the mirror, lift it, and start singing it's uncomfortably it automatically just goes down by itself! I keep thinking that my soft palate is raised when singing but Im just tensing the hard palate...I can lift the soft palate easily but once I start singing it's hard to keep up. Any tips?
@Voicercise6 жыл бұрын
Hi! Yes! Voicercise was created to show a singer how to strengthen the soft palate, as well as the other 6 muscles we use to sing like the pop and RnB stars we know and love. You can learn how to keep your soft palate lifted while singing, and be able to keep it up and understand how to control it just working on it 15 minutes a day. kzbin.info/www/bejne/fX_XoX6iaayUarM

YEs you are welcome. There are definitely different skills required to sing the music we hear on the radio today, runs, belts even breathing. It's important to know which singing techniques to apply to the singing style you are singing in.

So, I need to practice keeping the back of my tongue lower while singing but still move it up to make the consonant sounds when I need to. But still keep it as relaxed as possible. Can someone tell me if that's right and if you practice keeping your tongue down, will the muscle get used to being lower and overtime just learn to be in a lower position?
@kyle_hill_8647 жыл бұрын
Btw, I'm 14 and I noticed myself that I had a nasally voice, mainly because since my voice broke, I was never happy with how I sounded but didn't know why. So, I recorded myself singing multiple times on multiple occasions, (at the time I knew what a nasally voice was already) and then I realised it was because I have a nasally voice. Anyway, I will come back in about a month or two, I will come back and tel you if me and my friends that are singers can hear a noticeable difference in how my voice sounds. Thanks so, so, so, so, so much for the tips, and I'll be back soon to tell you.
@Voicercise7 жыл бұрын
Hey Kyle! Your tine is just one of the 7 muscles you use to control your voice and how nasal or full it sounds. I did go to your video and listen to your voice. It does as a nasal sound, however you are a pretty good singer. Nasal singing is caused because of where your tongue is placed when you sing. However, your tongue is only one of your 8 singing muscles that help you to hit higher notes, improves your tone, resolves your throat being tired and tight and a lot more. Since your tongue is located in the middle of your mouth, the 6 other muscles around it, control your ability to hold it down. Once all 7 of your singing muscles are under your control, controlling your tongue is easy.

Should i exhale from nose when sing?
@Voicercise2 жыл бұрын
Good question! You actually should be using all the air you exhale while singing to sing with.

I've always wanted to sing but I have something that I think is called tmj so I can't really open my mouth too much or else my jaw will pop so how should I try to sing?
@Voicercise8 жыл бұрын
Hi! Yes you should. I have helped many singers in your position, even singers with TMJ get complete control over their jaw. There are two big steps you need to do to fix your problem. And fixing them should make singing fun and freeing for you. You can check out voicercise.com for all the steps you'll need. Look for the Voicercise singing kit. Looking forward to hearing of your progress!

hi there. i feel like my voice is very breathy, i use to nose too much and my brother told my, i dont sing in a flow. how to fix that?
@Voicercise8 жыл бұрын
Hi Hamza! Singing from a flow takes you having more control over all 8 of the muscles you use to sing with. When all of your singing muscles are strong and under your control, your voice flows out easily without sounding so airy. I have helped many many singers with the difficulty you are having. Having an airy voice means that your muscles are too weak. Voicercise will help you develop the muscle strength you need to fix it. It's going to take work and the proper exercises for you to fix it. Kind of like if you decided you wanted to get a 6 pack abs. Since you sing with muscles it takes work to develop they properly.

+Naomi T Kaye I used to be a belter but I lost my confidence and I've probably done some vocal damage. I really want to work with you in January for broadway.
@Voicercise9 жыл бұрын
+V I R G O Wow! I wonder why you used o sing better... It's possible that at some point you were singing a lot more then you were previously, and the muscles you were using before are weaker now, and unable to do the things they could do before. This happens a lot with singers who are just starting up again. You probably didn't realize, but your singing muscles had actually developed over the course of a life time. Starting when you were a baby, making baby noises! It's kind of like, if a body builder decided to stop training for a year, and then went to lift a 100 lb weight, and his arms went limp under them. Do you see how that could be?
@ashamash9 жыл бұрын
yes, I can. So can this all be mended? Can i workout these muscles to get them back into shape?
@Voicercise9 жыл бұрын
+V I R G O Your voice is air. You sing with 8 singing muscles that control the air we call the voice and they have to be strong enough to do their jobs and they have to obey you quickly. Because your singing voice is controlled by singing muscles, if you stop using them as much, they actually start to atrophy. This causes these muscles to become less stronger and slower to respond, and control them. BUT the issues you are having are resolved in pages 17- 44 of the Voicercise Singing Kit. As Well as by using the 15 minute practice CD daily. You will notice a huge difference in your singing and confidence just within the 1st or second time using them. www.voicercise.com

+mariebellnero585 Hi Marie! Yes I would love to help you hit those notes. I help people to reach 8- 10 notes higher then the notes they are currently able to sing on a regular basis, in one sitting. With doing the Voicercise exercises daily, you can sing quite a bit higher than you do now. The Voicercise Singing Kit can give you the exercises to get you hitting those notes with the fastest progress possible. These are the same range and volume broadening vocal exercises I use in my one on one classes every day, to instantly expand their range, volume and sound of the students I work with. www.voicercise.com

Hi! I just wanted to say that even when I tried, I couldn't make out any difference. Like I still sounded bad. Thanks for your advice though. Can you please help me with that?
@Voicercise8 жыл бұрын
Hey shreya, okay I understand how that can be frustrating! I'm so sorry you are dealing with that. :( The difficulty for some singer is that your tongue muscle has to be able to relax into vowel sound positions when you are singing. Singing is holding out vowel sounds. If you tongue can't relax into vowel sound positions you will keep sounding nasal when you sing! It's important to know how to strengthen it, control it, use it and the other eight muscles you use to sing with. For the answers check out www.voicercise.com

I really wanted to sing well but the thing here is I can't. Every time I talk or sing I always have a hard time in swallowing my own saliva. I mean, i don't think its natural. What do you guys think about that?
@Voicercise6 жыл бұрын
Well, for your case it sounds like vocal health. Normally as a singer becomes more and more trained, they find out what it is they can and can't consume close to singing time. For instance: Milk products, sugar, soda, caffeine ei. coke, pepesi, coffee, black tea etc are all foods that create extra saliva when trying to use for voice, I would try cutting those things out, and let us know how it goes. There are also, other vocal health tips in this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/bauxpnp8ZbyeZ6M&lc=Ugy8oMmZBYHiSig6Moh4AaABAg
