I loved your guys’ communication during crucial times. Straight up taking responsibility, using logic and reason and not getting butthurt. Teamwork.

Good for you guys. I miss spearing pike. I grew up on a bayou in Western Michigan back in the 50's and 60's. My best day I speared 4. I usually got 1 for a day plus a bucket of perch caught with hook and line. Pan fried northern pike is some of the best eating there is. Those fork bones never bothered anyone in our family. P.S. So-called catch and release isn't always what some think. We found that some fish die hours or days after being released. Even if barely hooked some seem to die of shock. This is especially true of trout.

Good Morning: In Wisconsin there is a max hole size unless your spearing Sturgeon on lake Winnebago. How do you mark the hole after your done so someone does not drive a vehicle into it?
@UnReelMinnesota Жыл бұрын
Great question. We remove the ice blocks and then replace them afterwards so they freeze quickly. Additionally we mark with giant branches. Hopefully in the future, Wisconsin will open up more spearing opportunities!

I’d love to work with people from Wisconsin to push for legalizing pike spearing there. In the meantime, nonresidents can spear in MN
@daneye0073 жыл бұрын
Have the spear head resting in the water. That way the splash doesn't spook them once you throw. I've never spear fished, but that what my buddy once told me. Idk

I would love to see you guys spear fish a large Louisiana alligator garden, outside your normal comfort zone, and would most likely be much larger then what your use to

Your brother makes good decoys for the shelf, used mine once and the finish didn’t cover good enough so it got water logged and ruined the paint! I’ll stick with my John Laska!

Unless things have changed, spearing has illegal on Minnetonka for 30 years. If I'm wrong good because we used to do well there as a kid
