Well - that hurts! For me it is not about the money or the costs of the equipment. It is more about the loss itself. Even when it will not "kill" your bank account to get new used equipment it is just a waste of energy, emotions and time. I'm always sad when I loose something that offers joy and satisfaction to me even when it just costs a few bucks. I have a connection to my stuff and I don't buy anything without real need. So it always feels like loosing more than just material. Thank you for this upload, Alfred. It reminded me to take care about "whatever" I own.

Thank you very much for comment 🙏🙏😊 I completely agree that to loose some equipment is not about the money, but the equipment itselfs. I learned a lesson and try to take better care of my equipment in the future. 😊 greetings from Northern Norway 🇧🇻

Ouch!! That must have been some storm. I had my camera trap damaged by cattle not so long ago, but nothing on this scale. I am amazed you found your equipment and even more amazed by the wonderful images you managed to retrieve from the SD card. Regards John.

Painful! The images were great, though. You are really refining the set-up. I especially liked the ones before it was getting too dark.

Oh, I am really sorry- You lost some good equipment there! I am glad You could save som of the photos. And they were really great! I did exactly the same thing at my first attempt with my camera trap for the otter, but did not get any photos worth keeping at all. I am glad to see You keep the spirit! 👍👍

Thank you very much for your comment Keith 🙏🙏🙏😊 The settings for my night camera are right noe: 0.3sec, f/2.8, ISO2500-3200. For my day camera I use 1/100sec, f/7.1, ISOAUTO. I do change my settings a lot. Depends on the weather and light conditions. 😊

We had some horrific storms in California December and January and one of my dslr cameras, trigger and flash units knocked over and flooded. I opened my camera box and water poured out and then removed camera lens and water poured out of camera. Flashes flooded too. I put everything in zip lock bags of rice for a few weeks and camera and trigger worked perfectly! Flashes, unfortunately not salvageable.

That's the game. My cameras were under sea water and with minus degrees celsius everything was even frozen. Couldn't save anything. 😊

Does the flash not bother the Otter when it fires? Thanks for sharing
@alfredlucas3291 Жыл бұрын
In the beginning the otter was a bit jumpy about the flash and tried to pull the fish away. Now the otter don't mind at all. 😊

Ouch. So sorry to see that. It’s dreadful. Are the lenses sealed? May be worth putting them in distilled water. Not going to make them any worse😮I use Fixation in London. They are brilliant for repairing stuff. Love the otter pics at the end. Good luck.

Thank you very much 🙏🙏😊 yes, the lenses are sealed, but not for being under water 🙄 the tide was so high that everything was for several hours under water. It's beyond repairing 😁 greetings from Northern Norway 🇧🇻
