Oh, I love those projects! Because, as you said, it‘s the wildlife on your own land and that makes it very special. Of course, you could just go into a zoo and take phenomenal photos with a telezoom, but where is the challenge with that? And I think you already got very nice photos and videos! I just have a small garden in an urban area. So I was very excited last week, as there was a sparrowhawk sitting on my fence and having a meal (R.I.P little Greenfinch 😅). I was really proud of the pictures I took, because it‘s kind of special to have such a bird visiting your garden and he was so beautiful 😁 Greetings from Germany, Rebecca

As usual a very enjoyable production. 👍👍I’m just happy to be lucky enough to get Red Squirrels coming to my garden now. (At least hazelnuts and sunflowers are easy to keep supplying.)I don’t envy you 6.30 am starts in -° temperature but …to have Otters so close. Lovely. I am very envious. We do have otters here on Anglesey but not at the bottom of the garden. Please keep these super videos coming. I look forward to you exploring the rest of your land. Of course I expect there are loads of us who would love to come and explore it for you if you find it too much 🤣🤣 well done. Thank you.

This is great Alfred. You captured some great images and film. What a great set up you had. I’ve been following Otters here for the last couple of years - they’re such amazing creatures. I manage to film them in the morning light which is so good - a real privilege!! Your set up gives me an idea on how to leave my camera trap at night. The first Otter you filmed was a big male? He seems to have a big injury - when we see males they always seem to have fight injuries of some degree. Really enjoyed this one - you’re so lucky to have these beautiful creatures right outside your door!! I’m looking forward to seeing more 👍👍👍

@@alfredlucas3291 one of the first Otters we saw here had an eye gouge injury. We phoned our local Otter Sanctuary and they said it wouldn’t be a problem - males always have injuries of some sort!! 🤦🏻‍♂️😃

Enjoyed that and look forward to your future images. Although they weren't in focus the images that stood out for me were the ones where the otter was further out in the water with the island showing in the background, so I think your plans for an environment shot are good. A 'small in the frame' image could still look really good at that location. Best wishes for 2023.

Great video Alfred. Why are you not using the camtraptions housing? Is the plastic better insulation against the cold draining your battery?

Thank you very much Jim. 🙏🙏🙏 I'm not using the camtraptions housing, because I want to keep my camera close to the ground and with the housing it's more difficult. I also use at this moment a 14mm lens and I don't have a tube for it. The plastic is for protection of snow fall or rain and not against cold draining my battery. For the last 2 days we had beteeen -12 and -15 degrees and my battery is fine. 😊
