I jacked up my swing for a while from taking too much batting practice at the batting cages and taking a few months away from swinging helped more than any amount of practice
@Mitten4371 Жыл бұрын
Yea your path is almost similar to mine because I began playing travel ball at age 13 and when the season was over then we would meet at a batting cage and hit off of machines and that would be in the winter months. I never made it to college or pro but travel ball made me a better ball player. But it showed because I was able to make it with my highschool team

Real OG bro. The sandlot talk is underrated, real skill can be developed completely on one’s own. You know you’re going to give it everything you have in said game just to talk later about what you did on the Diamond. Great stuff brother

heard that you are helping out in the Brookline babe Ruth league. I play parkway babe Ruth which is in West Roxbury right next to Brookline. Really wish that I could get the chance to meet you and get some good tips from you especially since I am just starting varsity baseball in my freshman year.

Good advice, other sports throughout the year will keep you in shape. I was fortunate to have a college coach help me out and some 3A players gave great tips. It's a more complex game than people think.

Is it better for me to play on a high school team that is in the fourth Best conference in the city and starting in the middle infield and batting .516 or playing in the best Conference in the city but playing in the outfield and with a lower batting average?
@josborne711lupinesports45 жыл бұрын
I can't tell you for sure because I don't really know your situation (a lot probably goes into that decision besides just school baseball prestige), but I'd say it depends. If I were you, I would play the best competition and hit the best pitching available because I want to play at the next level and if I can't survive any conference of hs ball then odds are I won't survive college ball. To be honest, I don't care where I'm hitting in the lineup as long as I'm in it, and it can't hurt to learn outfield either (I might be a lil biased as an outfielder) as long as you keep your other skills sharp. But like I said, I know nothing about your situation; if you just want to enjoy your season, then your safest bet is probably to stick to the conference where you're a stud. So basically it depends on your goals. Btw I'm just a little high school pud too so don't take anything I say too seriously.

@@AntonelliBaseball hey Matt, if the relay cutoff shortstop was standing in wrong direction(toward 2b) and asked for ball on a triple hit but outfielder insisted to throw to 3b direction, who's fault?

I think the best baseball players have been those who played many sports in their youth. Kids now are brainwashed into having to go to clinics, practice, practice, practice and lots of those kids burn out mentally. Let's be real, if a kid has natural ability and refines that ability and can do it while having fun doing it, he will likely excel. To much of anything is to much.

Just came across your channel and have been bingeing all these Q&A videos, great stuff. I always wondered what options guys have if they don’t want to play in the organization that drafted them for whatever reason. I know in hockey guys can go play in Europe and make a living or go to college an become an UFA after they graduate, but that doesn’t seem to be an option for baseball. Thanks for putting out the great vids.

Really aren't many options. They could go play in a different country I guess. Thanks for watching our stuff!!!
