For years I watched the Dodgers from Top Deck Sec. 3, Row R (last row) for convenience, the best game perspective, and from the adjacent concourse, majestic views of Downtown L.A. and sunsets over the Pacific. At 1970s Oakland A's games I chose Sec. 317, behind home plate. For so many reasons, top-deck seats are the best in the house--unless you're filthy, stinkin' rich.

It was 3-0, with Justin Turner up. A frustrating moment for sure in a series filled with base-running gaffes. Robles has been terrific overall, but what he - and Acta, the 3rd base coach - were thinking is a mystery.

I've watched a few breakdowns of this. The home plate umpire had hand up time out the entire time, right up until the pitcher throws home.

It obviously cleared the fence. Someone would have to go out there and see what is behind the fence, as it looked like whatever the ball bounced off was pretty much level with the top of the fence. But wither way, it was plain that the ball a) did NOT hit the warning track or the ground in front of the fence and b) did NOT stay in the field of play.

This is an Easy call and should be IMMEDIATELY made by the PLATE Umpire because he can see the whole thing happen. If he dont,... just seeing the fielder on the ground should be enough for the field ump to call time after the play and go to the plate ump after the play to ask if he saw anything, without the coach needing to say anything. . . This is just a bad job all around. One of them NEEDS to know the rules and how to enforce them

I'm a fan of Hokkaido Nippon Ham Fighters. I have been watching him since his pitching debut. When Fighters drafted him as a two-way player, everybody doubted and criticized except Fighters organization and their fans. Mr. Kuriyama, manager, and the whole organization and fans believed in him and tried to make his dream come true. This kid is going to make it. We believed it. We are happy to see him keeping on striving after the impossible.

It's not his physical gift, it's the discipline, and zen like mind that he has. And though he did set to become major league player, I think playing with Nippon Ham Fighters also shape him as well. He would've thrived in majors nevertheless, most likely starting in the minors if he didn't become a pro in Japan, but Nippon Ham Fighters used him as a two-way player when others were convincing him to pick batting or pitching. It looks like he never had arrogance, and took the Nippon Ham Fighters' vision, and went through that "hard" route to show that he is dominant, and making his move to US to be even be dominant.

If there were 0 outs I could see stealing in this situation just to shake up the already tilting pitcher. With 2 outs, there is absolutely no reason for it that doesn't involve a bet placed on the other team. (No, I don't think this was intentionally throwing the game, I think it was just stupidity.)

Ok but this is literally a broken rule. If a ball is hit your way all you have to do is run down the base path and the runner is out every time. He can't leave the base path and he can't make contact. 🤣 Baseball has such clown rules.

Dumb play by BOTH sides. No reason to run given the game situaiton. But the Yankees need to tell the pitcher not to do what he does with a runner on 3rd. Runner on 3rd that you aren't holding on and you are bending over and looking down? Don't they teach basic fundamentals at ANY level anymore? Or do players just ignore them once they get their big contracts?

Dear sports directors....ALWAYS STAY ON THE FUCKING PLAY! As long as the ball is life, there is never ANY need to show close ups of players...and no matter what, there is never EVER any need to show the god damn crowd! A sports telecast is supposed to be the eyes of viewers. What they would be watching if they were at the game. And NO ONE goes to a sporting event with binoculars and stares at other fans in the crowd. Ever.

On paper it's bad, in practice it's probably not that bad or even slightly good. Depends a bit on how wild the pitcher was, the score, time of the game, etc. (chkd and the pitcher had thrown 3 pretty wild balls so stealing is def. bad there).
