Love your videos on here, really great! I’ve bought a new build and the lawn is shocking, lumps and bumps everywhere. Could you recommend a good aerator/scarifier and a lute for a non professional gardener with a decent size lawn?

Renovated my lawn last week aerated and filled holes with horticultural sand then reseeded and top dressed with compost (its all trial and error) hopefully i got it right !!

Hello! My lawn is a little neglected and is both quite uneven, bumpy and sloped. It's approx 120m2 and I'm thinking about ordering 4 totes of screen field soil and 1 tote of compost. Using the field soil to get rid of the bumps and dips in an attempt to get a smooth slope or at least a lawn that won't spain your ankle. then top dress and overseed with the compost tote. Is this the right approach? Perhaps treat with seaweed first too? There's no sitting water but some bare areas are clay-ish/soggy which I'm hoping a healthy lawn will improve. I'll aerate with a fork first

Hi Robbie Iv put down a lawn sand with moss killer in it a couple of weeks ago and now done all the hard work scarifying the lawn I want to top dress and over seed but can see that there are still weeds across the lawn, should I treat these first . and if so can you recommend a weed and feed product to use

I did some work on my garden, scarafied, airated and seed, sand, topsoil. In a bit of shade and slightly damp, concerned it will just end up being soil, any tips on next moves?

What about ya Robbie? I need a bit of advice. My front garden gets very little direct sunlight and the grass is extremely thin /non existent in areas. I've seeded it many times but it never does great, the moss thrives however. Last year I put down some roll out turf thinking if I put some established grass there it would stand a better chance but that didn't last either. Maybe I'm just using the wrong grass? What's the best seed out there for shade? I'm in Dublin if that helps.

Either reduce the shade or it's not going to grow. Doesn't matter what you grass you try it's probably not going to grow

Hi Batman 😂😂. I did a renovation about 4 or 5 weeks ago. It failed. No sooner had I finished, a really horrible very cold wet spell came and 5 weeks on it's still here. Im gonna leave untill Autumn now. Bit disappointed. Really enjoying the videos. 👍👽

Initially lots of people seem to cut or what I think they call is scalp lawns before they scarify. What’s the reason why you seem to leave the lawns longer in length? Is it to do with the grass type? Does this help recovery leaving the grass longer? Asking as have a couple of friends lawns to help with over the next couple of weekends so want to make sure it’s done correctly. I only have a 240v operated machine so may not have the power of the petrol ones used commercially.

I moved into a new house which had a heavily mossed front garden. Did a scarify about 3 weeks ago now, over seeded, fertilised and top soiled but I’m yet to see any germination.. same in patch spots in the back garden.. how many weeks before knowing the seeds failed and needs redoing? I thought the NI weather being wet would have helped with things the last few weeks!

Did some diy aeration with a pitch fork and there was some moss control put down a few weeks prior as well as liquid seaweed in the winter months

It’s also north facing with the house putting the majority of the lawn in the shade from mid day onwards. Not sure if that would have any affect on slowing down germination
