This could be due to their genes and looks to be young pretty much forever or 2. It’s the profession they do to make money quick. Either dangerous work or with their high perception and light body they can steal easily but if caught is prison time or death sentence depending on the area.

Pretty sure Tall-Men and Half-Foot have roughly the same age rate, and the shorter life expectancy is due to discrimination, physical vulnerability, and a potential lack of access to healing magic (don't know how healing magic distributes in the Dungeon Meshi world, but since half-foots seem to have so little magic potential, it'd make sense if their communities they've built suffer from things like disease and even higher infant mortality rates bringing life expectancy back down).
