i LOVE ysaora's energy! you can see how different a mentality that professional competitive athletes have when it comes to having pride and confidence without being defensive. she was so genuinely excited for eugene to score on her and she was really encouraging him to really go for it. i feel like sometimes when pros are in these types of videos where they spar against amateurs they can't help but feel defensive about their area of expertise, but i felt like all she had was genuine enthusiasm to teach and share her love of the sport with the guys

I do another kind of fencing sport, its a huge difference facing an overall untrained person compared to someone who already is a sports fanatic, especially combat sports. They know how to move and how to adapt the moves you teach them. Also there is an innate understanding of distance as well as trying to hit someone while nit beeing hit yourself. While someone who is just trying to find his legs normally is just a predictable dummy to move around and outmaneuver those people always have an aura of threat and danger the moment you enter their reach.
