@@ChunkyLover420 I somewhat agree but it's tough to say - personally, I would prefer breaking to stay an artform. It's more than just acrobatics and performance... But then again, it's a movement that requires an insane amount of athleticism, technical skills and musicality.

Ok. I’m here for adding this. It’s a feat of athleticism and deserves recognition. However: No more excuses that the judging is “too subjective” for certain sports which is the main thing I hear against adding pole dance. If they can determine a way to fairly judge “soul” for Breaking, then they can find a fair way to judge pole and other aerial athletes.
@sh0k0nes

And just as u can't judge 'Mind', 'Soul' is just a header that represents an abstraction of underlying concepts.
@soryaxxx
@soryaxxx 3 жыл бұрын
Soul in relation to breaking means more of musicality and other abstract stuff which is already an integral part of scoring in many sports. In relation to stuff like pole and other acrobatic stuff not being in the olympics, it really comes down to organizations pushing the sport and creating a format that is in line with IOC guidelines. Pole only became an official sport last year, and is on the watch list for olympics to see how they conduct competitions etc. Personally I think it's redundant to add another acrobatic sport because gymnastics already cover that area so well it doesn't really add much, but then again I think breaking and many many other olympic sports shouldn't really be there in the first place so could just be me.
@sh0k0nes
@sh0k0nes 3 жыл бұрын
@@soryaxxx I made the system and wrote the rulebook. Soul does not mean that in the system. We don't judge on 'soul'. And what u feel about what should be an Olympic sport is irrelevant. The Games are dying and they need new blood. U'd prefer they died than evolved? That's probably why ure not part of the decision making process.

It's crazy to think about all the kids breaking on cardboard boxes in the streets back in the day.... to now it being considered an Olympic sport.

I am really really curious how this is going to be judged in the olympics only because I don't think there is any other sport in it that is judged by such vague categories. I think it's going to have a lot of the same types of scoring like figure skating where they have to perform a certain number of tricks/moves and the moves are of different difficulty ratings. But it is still really cool that a street dance made it to the world stage.

Im so happy this will be an Olympic sport!! This dance form is so insane and requires so much strength and resilience, plus the level improvisation added to it. Glad some more “obscure” things are being added
