I genuinly started laughing at the complexity of the excercise at 6:20. No way I can let my swimmers perform this after one explanation 😂

I am looking for fins. The problem I am encountering is the wide spread use of the traditional 'frog feet' style. The problem with them is that they keep your feet in a straight line rather than toed in. We do not have flat feet like frogs or ducks. Optimal position for feet in flutter kick and dolphin kick is to be toed in 20 to maybe 40 degrees. This gives those of us with stiff ankles an extra 10 or more degrees of 'toe point' and we can use the entire top side of our foot for thrust. Those Arena fins look to be slightly off set, but I asked them once and they said they don't have off set fins. Only ones I have seen are the Finis Positive Drive Fins, which have a small blade on the big toe side, and a wide fin on the little toe side. This seems to work perfectly. I did see the Aqua Fins, which I heard were a Michael Phelps design. I couldn't get my feet into them, even with the largest size. I modified them by greatly enlarging the foot/ankle hole, and still had trouble getting my feet into them. Maybe that is because I have linebacker/fullback ankles. I think they made them upside down. Roll them over, and the 'ribs' on the bottom side mimic exactly what the water does when coming off the top side of your foot..... I am too old to design and manufacture my own fins....

Proof swimming is a sport of power more than endurance. Many say swimming is a cardio sport but, at a performance point at least, it is more a power sport. This approach seems to adress both the technical and power aspects of swimming. Experienced coach but completely innovative coaching for me. But I wonder : the use of paddles during long endurance sets is still useful? Or should we focus on using them for powerful efforts?

the one in the video are really big for endurance sets. for endurance paddles a slight bit smaller and more curved to fit the hand might be more suitable.
