I recently learned that some Indigenous groups (like the Dakota) refer to invasive species as "displaced relatives" basically putting the responsibility for that displacement on humans vs the animals. I feel that is reflected in your discussion after you killed the first sheep, working with the living things that come to your space.

Avid bow hunter from Maui, great video I wish this is the only way we would deal with invasive animals but on Maui there are so many eradication teams out at night just murdering deer and not even harvesting the meat it’s really sad.

Great episode. At some point perhaps introduce the fans to some of the background of the arrival of these invasive creatures. Not sure if people realize that only birds, trees, plants, and marine life inhabited the islands until sometime in the first millennium AD when the original Hawaiians arrived from the South Pacific.

Often times when the topic of invasive animals in Hawaii comes up, there's no talk of what success looks like. Is it eradication or a balance. I'm biased and on the side Ide like to continue hunting and seeing the next generation get the chance. Most fathers were hunting land that is now fenced off or eradicated, sex ratios are all messed up, what little we had for mature animals has dwindled. There's a divide with dlnr/conservation efforts and hunters. This video wasn't about that, I recognize it was about hunters being a management tool, which is awesome. Could dive more into this topic though, most viewers are not in the know. Congratulations on your ram, awesome merch.
