What caused inflation in the dollar? What happened in 1971 by United States President Richard Nixon? Why did Nixon shock the world and drop the gold standard in the US? What caused the US to leave the Bretton Woods System and suspend the convertibility of the dollar to gold bullion? Now that all currencies in the world are fiat based can inflation be stopped or are we headed towards a new recession by all the money printing?

There were a lot silver mines being discovered in the late 1800s, that's another reason why silver was devalued at that time.

Vietnam and the social welfare programs at the time required a ton of money printing and the world was watching, especially France. Ironically, France got out of Vietnam and we took over, that's why they knew it was expensive to stay there and knew we didn't have enough gold to maintain our military presence there and so they sounded the alarm. They told the world that we were printing more money than we had so they started buying their gold back with dollars and soon other countries followed, so Nixon had to stop it.

Would like to point at the in 1933 when they stole the gold and raise the price to $35 have to remember that in 1933 inflation was out of control and they $20 they gave could only buy $10 worth of goods that they could the year before. So essentially they stole $25 an ounce 1933 and that was a lot back then.

Good start to help others navigate the dangers lurking in the fictitious world of fiat currencies. For what it's worth I sold my only house, got into a cheap rental, and with the proceeds of the sale of my house bought silver bullion in 100 oz bars. As the gold silver ration closes I expect to convert all the silver to gold then sit black and wait for the bargains to be bought with the gold like farms for my food and houses to rent out for income as the currency is destroyed and hyperinflation reduces all assets priced in fiat currencies to zero value and sold for my gold.

It was Lyndon Johnson who opened the money spigot to finance both the Vietnam war (inherited from the French), which he exponentially escalated based on a false flag, the Gulf of Tonkin incident, and social(ist) programs which ultimately led to the decimation of the urban black nuclear family while squandering what has amounted to trillions on "the War on Poverty". It was this profligate spending that ultimately led to the run on the gold window.

Rob, I'm about to purchase about 10k in silver. I was wondering how much over spot you would sell it to me for. I'm interested in kilo size bars or 10 oz. bars. My local dealer is charging a #3.00 premium and I think that's a bit high. I paid $0.31 over spot about 15 years ago and it keeps on going up.

As well is this a constitutional thing for confiscation? or was it advertised as a best interested for the country/ new over night law? Thanks for the videos dude you answer a lot of my questions on precious metals.

Google for more, but I believe ea American could keep up to 5oz gold and ‘collectables’ were exempt. But back in ‘33 the Depression and Faith in gvmnt were high. Most ppl just gave away their’s for ** $20.67oz. It was definitely a SCOTUS viable event, that didn’t happen.

Great video Rob! I am curious about your platinum stance. Could you do as video on why you still like platinum? Since the world seems to be going electric, I would think the demand for platinum would go down due to less catalytic converter demand. Keep up the great work!!

I’ve been wondering the same thing re: gasoline powered vehicles and the need for catalytic converters. Wouldn’t transition to EV cut demand for platinum? I’ve also heard that hydrogen fuel cells use lots of platinum but now I’m also hearing that other less expensive materials could replace platinum in hydrogen fuel cells.

Hi Rob. Great how you worked this one with history and the true significance of the events that are playing out now. How about a small addendum to why President Johnson debased our coinage in 1964. Think that may have contributed to the crap we get now as change. Our coin change feels and sounds like it should be thrown in the trash rather than put into our pockets. Great job on the one with some of my favorite a holes..presidents.. Wilson, FDR and Nixon. There are the ultimate 3 clowns of different eras with many more within the 46 including our current useless idiot! Thanks man. Robbie
