This might sound bad, but I totally get why Activision doesn't bother innovating much anymore-they just stick to the two franchises that always bring in money. Honestly, it's on the fanbase. Whenever they try something new, like Infinite Warfare, it doesn't perform as well. Every time they try to shake things up, fans push back. But when they roll out another Modern Warfare 5 or Black Ops 7, it sells like crazy. So in a way, we've brought this on ourselves as fans.

It’s such a shame too because Infinite Warfare is one of the best and well-made COD games in my opinion. • Brilliantly written Campaign with the most emotion in the series, great characters, and a VERY unique setting • Fast-paced Multiplayer, similar to BO3, but with a more fair Supply Drop system (not perfect but at least better) • Zombies that had the MOST style and personality out of any Zombies mode, with a focus on purely being as fun as possible I’ve been defending it since it first came out, but I’m glad to see people coming around to this game nowadays.

@@orrgroup9928 Base DLC guns were completely free to earn with a simple challenge (or given to Season Pass holders), weapon variants were craftable with salvage. Only some were locked exclusively behind drops but as far as I remember, none of the drop exclusive ones were THAT OP to the point where it broke the game. I don’t see how the maps are bad. We can agree to disagree there, but the maps were solid in my opinion. Similar map design to BO3, very colorful too. Not sure what’s wrong with the class system?? There was plenty of balanced customization.

@@Xpertfusion Trying to vouch for loot boxes is... new. The maps discouraged the advanced movement. There is little to no strategy, kill barriers everywhere, and only some verticality. The maps made flying around feel like a gimmick more than something to get creative with like in bo3. The class system had mechanics that didn't actually alter the gameplay nearly at all. Anything that had the illusion of being innovative was mostly ripped from black ops 3. Then, the pick 10 system isn't as effective anymore because you could just use pay 2 win variants of the guns that you hit the loot boxes for, and you'd basically be set to pubstomp (black ops 3 has this issue as well). There is no thought when you use the IW pick 10 system. Grab p2w gun, no secondary gun needed, use whatever (useless) rig you wanted, and you're set to abuse the game with a 3 k/d at the end of the match because the rest of the lobby doesn't have the gun you have; better cough up some dough for just a CHANCE at getting any broken gun.

@@orrgroup9928 I’m not vouching for supply drops at all (although I still prefer some of those systems more than the MTX stuff we see nowadays), I was simply just saying it’s a much better supply drop system than BO3 and doesn’t feel “P2W” at all considering you can earn the best items directly for free just by playing the game. As for maps, this complaint doesn’t make any sense to me considering the maps are very similarly designed to BO3. Same level of verticality, similar amount of wallrun spots. I’ve played these games a lot, I would know. They wanted the maps to play in a way where you didn’t HAVE to use advanced movement, which is probably why they aren’t as crazy as you seem to want, they are still Call of Duty maps at their core, just with some extra spots to mess use advanced movement in. But then there’s some maps (Like Mayday) that feel VERY much far in the direction of needing advanced movement to be good. They striked a good balance. Your point about class systems really don’t make sense to me. Most people complained about how OP specialists were and yet you are saying they made no difference? I certainly cared about the perks in the game. Specialist character perks were a cool addition to, that was heavily utilized.

i think the problem with the game is that because it did have a cod title, it was still somewhat limited by what they could do (pushing the limits, but still limited regardless). Like, it couldn't play like halo, or go into any unique sci fi abilities or anything like that, at the end of the day the movement and shooting still had to be cod, so it didn't really appeal to anyone beyond a typical cod fan. but at the same time, cod fans thought it went way too far from what cod should be. so it ended up not really appealing to any core demographic. Since I happen to love fps games in general, including sci fi ones and cod, I'm in a unique position to really appreciate it for what it is

I did quite enjoy Infinite Warfare, and the campaign is at least higher on the list whether or not you agree it one of the best. But it was absolutely unfortunate timing with the community sick of futuristic and advanced movement at the time plus the other factors going against it all at once. I didn't have my ps4 yet at that time, but still felt wild to be watching the community and situation around the time.

I know this isn’t related to the video but I have a prediction for Black Ops 6 and there’s going to be two different endings. Canon- Find the mole and gives you the coordinates and location of Raul Menendez. Track him down and capture/kill him. Takes place in the 90’s or 2003. Saddam and Menendez are allies and you play as David Mason going after Menendez. Alternate- Fail to capture/kill Menendez and goes back into hiding until 2014 and 2025 and establishes Cordis Die Basically Cordis Die was simply getting all people in every nation to rebel against their government and establish a new world order. Makarov and the Zakhaev’s wouldn’t want to anything with Raul Menendez if he made a return in the new Modern Warfare games.

Honeslty i really enjoyed infinite warfare. The zombies in that game was one of my favorites of all time. Probably 2nd or 3rd in the franchise. The multiplayer was.. alright. It really couldnt hold up to bo3 and another advanced movement game was bound to fail. But the weapons and gunplay was fun, and abilities were cool, like turning into robo dog and the black hole gun and FTL jumping. I really dislike the hero abilities in cod though

Love it or hate it much like every cod game in existence it laid the groundwork for something that could have been but feel short. Infinite Warfare's campaign is one of the best campaigns that the COD franchise has ever produced. I didn't care for the MP that much because the campaign was so well done. As much as I hate IW you can understand why it was pushed out. It had been in development for 2-3 years already when the advanced movement didn’t have time to get an opinion or outlook from the community. The community was somewhat quiet or less vocal during BO3 and led to the trailer failing and with no time to build a new game 6 months before release.

Transparency could have saved them at this time... What did we expect them to do when everyone enjoyed AW and BO3. The development started between both games so by the time people started to want boot on the ground, the game was pretty much completed. Money had already been spent. Maybe it was the trailer. But what I think could have been a great option was to swap MWR and IW and explain the situation. "We created something that was trending at the time and can't go back without suffering great losses." I think MWR would have sold welland the bonus IW wouldn't have been so hated. The game itself was good; campaign, multiplayer and zombies.

People genuinely slept on this game. The trailer is long because they had to show the atmosphere of the battle that trailer took place in. A space ship so grand its the side of a district. People wanted something different and they wanted to go back 2 games after they decided to listen to their community. The last 30 seconds of the trailer was also dedicated to cod 4 a legend in the cod series. Infinite had one of the best campaigns ever released by cod and the best non Treyarch zombies, way better than the quality of zombies and campaign we get today. I will admit the multiplayer wasn't the greatest but it was better than a dull gray ww2 game we got with vanguard and ww2. No wonder cod doesn't change anything no more. if they listen to us we cry. that is why all we can do is play the same game every year with no changes moving forward.
