HAPPY BIRTHDAY MISS LOU 💓 heaven must be celebrating today (Sept 7th, 2022). The Ring Ding show was never missed as a child growing up in Jamaica. The Annansi stories were my favorite. Then I moved to Canada, and many years later I had the esteemed privilege of meeting her when she lived in Toronto; I started out in Theatre as a young adult, and she watched me performed on stage at the JCA centre, Toronto. I was in awe then, and still is. Her presence was magnetic, and her positive energy profoundly inspiring. Truly a cultural icon indeed! Sandra Witter, Proud Jamaican Canadian...as Miss Lou would seh "wi likkle but wi tal-a-wah....ahhh-yah-yahe....unu walk good"

Garbage! You have your beautiful traditions too. You just need to find the people out there who have preserved them. You're not going to find them on T.V. like that, but trust me, they are there, they are all over the country. Seek and ye shall find. Trust me on that! The problem is people in the cities turn their backs on folk culture. This is a problem all over the World. Even Jamaica has this problem. If you want to see the real culture you have to go to the rural areas.

I fondly remember, as a youth, seeing Ms Lou standing just outside walls of the Ward Theatre being completely surrounded by a crowd of people; we were all captivated by her stories, full of laughter and joy. I believe if anyone is deserving of the status of national heroine, it is Ms Lou. She has nearly single-handedly giving a nation a sense of pride in itself, by removing the shame that was placed upon our cultural identity by the colonial masters, that continue to reverberate to this day. The initiative by the government to establish a republic at its fruition, should culminate with the declaration of National Heroine status for our beloved Ms Lou.

Oh my...😍😘❤️. I was one of those kids in the studio audience. I also performed a dance trio with my sister and a friend during the program. When I finally got invited to be in the show I was extatic💯‼️🤣😃😂. Ms. Lou gave me my 1st experience performing on TV... The rest was history💯. Thank you Ms Lou‼️. I continued performing even after migrating to the USA and have worked with several known celebrities and producers in the TV and film industries. I became a member of all three professional actors unions in USA, until I gave my life to Christ Jesus and began preaching the Gospel over 15years ago. I enjoyed working on the stage, and was recently asked to perform during a cultural event at a local church and of course... I performed several of her songs during the presentation. I love and respect the Jamaican icon 😘MS. LOU🥰 and will continue to keep my Jamaican culture ALIVE💯❤️❤️❤️. Our culture is very rich💯. Sadly, most children born abroad who are of Jamaican parents have no idea of this... and are missing out on a part of their history and culture... Ms. Lou was so much a part of my career destiny in the theatre, TV and film industries 💯. Today I’m a Writer, published Author, Educator and Preacher of the Gospel of Christ, but I appreciate the jump start she gave me as a performer at that time of my life💯. Absolutely amazing💯‼️🤣.
