Same here. Question: Did you ever open it? I tried but couldn't because the back seems to be kind of sealed to the cab...??
@michaelinglis5675 жыл бұрын
@@Hardchoere Its not its just really really tight for a reason. Take all the screws out then remove the jack plate and once youve taken out the jack plate let it hang off to the side and reach in with a few fingers and pull outward. That should do the trick. Its tight cause if it wasnt it wouldnt control air and would essentially be a half ass open back cabinet.

A lot of people are bitching about the price. I built slant cabinets myself before and trust me there is a buttload of labor that goes into one of those. Hand labor in the UK or USA is not cheap. Eventually they will probably ship it all off to China and then you'll be bitching about that.

For the price I expect good sound and orange is not that :D .. Orange sound like granpda rig. And it is ugly as fk. Come on. Look at it.. Its fucking hideous.
@colemcdaniel54684 жыл бұрын
90% of their products are made in PRC, They sold out long ago... I build professional cabs as well. Could bust off about 3-4 slants in an 8 hour day, and that's complete. They are super simple, especially with all the right parts, machines and proper tools. I use a table saw, Brad nailer and a router, by hand. The hardest part is cutting the seems on the Tolex/Rexine so they perfectly match up. After 2 or 3, you get it right. This is basic high school shop stuff. They don't even finger joint them. That, out of any step, is the most time consuming part! Slapping the wood on a CNC table for 1-2 mins for all your cuts is chump work at minimum wage. Then it goes together is like Lego, all your grooves are there. Glue, line up, nail done! Orange is now a Corporation out for your cash! These are $1799 +tax here in Canada, wood is Chinese, wiring is Chinese, Rexine is made in china, along with all the input jacks, down to the Celestion Vintage 30's, all made in China. People will always bitch yes, but the price is R*A*P*E man! UK labor is not the highest quality either, I have watched Top Gear since the 80's, they talk about it all the time! We have an amp company called Traynor up here, they make the exact same cab, it is heavier though by about 10-12 lbs. Still uses Chinese V30's, but its $800 +tax so, $840 all in. The difference in tone can be dialed with a EQ, unless you like being taken a fool by the company you support, then by all means... Whack away Jim, whack away! Building one with little knowledge and cheap hands tools makes for a buttload of work yes. But you are saving like $1200 bucks dude! I agree with Jack Fisher here, they are ugly, well the grill mesh is, and they sound like every other V30 cab. I sold my Rockerverb for a Revv Genorator, never looking back again! TheRevv is 10 times the amp. V30's are actually crap speakers for anything but metal anyways... Just to be clear people, Google does not have ears, you do, use them and try other speakers! There are leaders in this world and followers, which one are you?

I checked the Celestion website and the picture they have there for the V30 is exactly like the one shown in this video which begs the question: Could it be that all V30s now are made in China and Orange is only using what's available or can you still buy V30s made in England? It's been 2 or more days that I'm poundering between buying that cab because I want the UK version of V30 or I don't want it at all.

Looking through the comments it's interesting how this video backfired. Orange showing how the build the amps and most realize, it's not worth the asked money. But true there is no high skilled carpenter necessary to assemble the CNC cut parts. Heck even nice finger joints could be made with high precision on a CNC but the risk of damaging them during assembly might be to high and it would take more time, so lets go cheap on this step. Anybody with few hours of training could assemble the amp for minimum wage.

What an absolute fuc-king clown comment. Cost of 4 Vintage 30 speakers. Cost of 18mm marine birch ply. Cost of tolex. Cost of handles. Cost of wiring. Cost of corners. Cost of backplate and jacks. Cost of piping. Cost of basket weave. Cost of high quality screws. Then the cost of making them. I would say they are pretty cheap considering all the parts and labour that goes into them. You would struggle to build one as good and keep the cost as low.
