Amanda's comment about how her kids' only confusion comes when others aren't ok with their trans parent made me cry unexpectedly. It took me back to when my mom came out to me 30 years ago. I was 12 and I was terrified for her (and our family) because I understood exactly how much people hated gay folks. They like to act like LGBT+ are the ones hurting children but it's the hate that hurts us. Thank you Scott family for making the love outweigh the hate ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜

This video is, quite honestly, one of the most beautiful experiences I've ever had on KZbin. I am absolutely sobbing my head off with intense emotion and love. Your family is loving, and honest, and down to earth, and so simply gorgeous. You are incredible parents. I love that Shay finally gets to live as her true self. She's inspiring. I wish her peace and all good things. She still has her sense of humor through all the meanness. Your journey is so real and valid. I SEE you all. And I'm so glad you're here. You're raising the next generation of loving humans. Thank you for that. And thank you for your inspiring example.

Thank you for teaching me about the queer community (having grown up with that as an unkind word) it remains difficult for me to understand that is now an acceptable word to use…I am probably of your parents generation or a bit older. I struggled to understand what the different genders, pronouns etc meant…and the sudden to me news that seemed to be everywhere re. the subject. Your story of Shay’s childhood broke my heart and I finally understood the subject with greater love and understanding and acceptance. There has been a sad recent event where from a victim I learned the meaning of the they/them pronouns. This person shared their appreciation of people making an effort to use the proper pronouns. I have watched your family since you started sharing on KZbin. What brave souls you are to share your story. You have created a beautiful family. Please know a lot of the negativity comes from quite simply negative judgmental people who for whatever reason have time to be unkind. And for some of the older generation while not necessarily unkind…many of us simply honed a story such as yours shared to gain further understanding. Hope you have an amazing day! Fall is beautiful!

As an adult child of a transgender parent, the only pain a child of a trans parent goes through is seeing the ugliness of others fears come out to the people we love so much. This world is not black and white, it never has been. There are endless amounts of colors in between. And sometimes God sprinkles these amazing, beautiful, priceless gifts to experience growth and love on a level that can’t be put in to words… one of those gifts to me was my transgender parent. Thank you for this video.

Another wonderful and beautiful video. The scariest thing for me during my transition was coming out to my daughters because I didn't know how they would react. I was blown away by their response. My oldest daughter's reply was, "that's it? Now you're going to be easier to shop for." I realized at that moment that I was so scared of nothing. I never taught my daughters to hate anyone and I saw that I was successful in that. Of course I had someone else in the family argue that my kids were brain washed by the school system into thinking that being transgender is okay which is why my kids are okay with me. Love is natural, hate is taught.

Thank you so much for sharing your story with the world. I was AFAB and fell in love with my best friend in high school. Though neither of us identified as lesbian, that's how the world viewed us. We fought for our marriage and to be recognized in this country and in the red state of Idaho. We got married in Canada before it was legal in the states. Like Shaye, I've known since I was 3yo that my assigned gender at birth didn't match who I was at my core. My parents let me be who I was, no push towards specific gender norms. I had my own fertility issues, but did have one full term pregnancy. After a health crisis in 2019 at the age of 32, I was told it was too dangerous for me to conceive again. It was at that point where I decided I'd start my FTM transition. Because my spouse and I are demisexual, our relationship has remained intact and strengthens everyday. Our child still, and always will, call me Mommy. There is no confusion for her on who I am. She knows I identify as they/he and that gender is a spectrum. I love seeing your family and how strong you all are together. The fact that your wife still remains your best friend, coparent, and closest confidant is so beautiful and I wish you all peace and love moving forward on this journey. -Al

This was a truly stunning masterpiece of a video. I hate how people's happiness has to be politicized. If someone is being themselves and not hurting anyone, then why would someone hate them for that? We are all beautiful people on this earth, all different and unique. If someone feels the need to attack a beautiful and loving family for sharing their story, then they are the ones lost and full of hate. God doesn't hate, people do. You both are spectacular parents, and I hope to be like both of your kind and beautiful souls one day when I have kids. Thank you for sharing your story, it gives me hope for this world. Sending love and peace 💓💞

🐕 The new puppy completely stole the show! 🥰 But more seriously, children are so much more open and flexible than adults! My teenager had a classmate who gradually identified herself as a girl. When I ask him how he felt about that, he replied: « It doesn’t change anything for me. It’s not my life. » So simple and it says it all!

I think a big problem too when they bring up kids, is they want to believe the worse because it would justify their hate, and there is no justification. I’m 33 and was delayed adequate care due to how much “caution” and how much shame there is in this process. The fact is though, I am lucky to be here, many people in my position wouldn’t be. Other people trying to dictate what young trans and queer people feel causes a lot of tragedy. Seeing Shaye and your family thrive really, really helps. My mom passed, but dad is Mormon from Mexico, and he actually had studied for years before his life took a different direction, because he was going to be a priest at one point… and he struggles with the way people try to use faith to justify harm. That also makes your family and story resonate so much with us. So thank you for sharing🙏🏼

That part about people saying they're concerned about the children reminds me of when I decided to finally leave an unhealthy marriage. There was one older church lady who told me in an admonishing tone, "But honey, think of your children." At the same time I said "I am" a dear friend also said, "She is. That's why she's doing it." You have to be healthy to teach the children to be healthy, authentic, at peace.

I just binged half of the videos on your channel, and I have to say, I wish I had a family as accepting. Regardless, I have a partner that has stood by me throughout my entire transition, a brother that fights with my parents because he can't stand when they wont accept me for me, and a community that just continues to grow. Love you both.

I just stumbled across you two and want to express how thankful I am for your content! I am FTM transgender and struggle a lot as I have never learnt what it feels like to be unconditionally loved (in general and also as a trans person) and therefore often times feel like I will never experience true love. Seeing you gives me hope and helps to keep loving myself. Thank you.

How have I never heard of ya'll before? I'm binging all the videos and let me just compliment your beautiful family. I'm so glad ya'll have a supportive bunch of people around you. Thanks for sharing. I'm the mom of a gay adult son and even though I've been an ally for years these videos are really teaching me stuff I never thought about before.

Your babies don't feel any different, because they know the love you both have showered on them has never changed or will change because of how Shay wants the world to see her. It is the same for us, who have been watching you for so many years. You both are as authentic as it can be and nothing is going to change the love we feel for you and your family. Thank you, thank you from the bottom of my heart for raising the future this world deserves.
