@@GreatScotts I met my forever person in 2002 as well, and the thing that we always give to each other is unconditional acceptance, no matter how other people may judge our choices as individuals or as a couple. Our story unfolded very differently than yours, but we get a lot of, "Really? She did WHAT? And you are okay with it? Hmm. How...unconventional." Some people will never understand us, but we really don't care what anyone thinks! I'm relating so much to your story, even though our stories are so different. Love is love! 🌈 ❤

I was raised Mormon and everything you talked about is giving me flashbacks 😂😂 I left the church because I didn’t feel like I fit in. Not for the same reasons as Shaye, but I still didn’t fit the typical/ideal “Molly Mormon” image. I’m not romantically/sexually attracted to either men or women, or really anyone. I’ve always been this way but just in the last year or so I’ve really embraced this and realized this is who I am. I’ve always questioned Mormonism and had doubts, and I’ve never aspired to the traditional female role: homemaker, mother, quiet, dainty, etc. I’m the complete opposite. I’m loud, crude, outspoken and I have no plans to be married. I never got any major pushback or criticism because of this but I always felt out of place. So much so to the point that around COVID when everything shut down I decided not to go back to church when things went back to normal. And now here I am. I’m still struggling with my decision and feeling isolated and out of place but I’m slowly working towards accepting my decision and who I am in this new chapter of my life. Thank you guys for this video. It was very sweet and eye opening

As someone who is older, and trans, and who has avoided dating and intimacy most of my adult life, out of fear of rejection (for being trans) your ❤️ story is beautiful and inspirational! The fact that your marriage endures and thrives, is sadly still the exception rather than the rule. I do however see more and more relations surviving post-transition, so I am hopeful for the future (even if it’s too late for me!) Thank you for sharing your story! True love is such a beautiful thing! ❤❤❤

**I want to first say that I am trying very hard to use the correct wording and terminology to be respectful towards everyone, including the LGBTQIA+ community. Sometimes, I fall very short. If I do so, please let me know but there is no need for meanness. A gentle nudge is enough. ** Stories like this makes me see that there are still couples who truly do love deeper than the surface. When I fell in love with my husband (at 16), I fell in love with the person. No matter what, I can't imagine leaving. This story is so genuine. It is beautiful. I can not love this enough!!

Ok Girl,..."Shaye is so sweet". Not,... I'm 60, and I'm laughing my butt off over here,..."Shaye is what?...Sexy". In your own writing! You both are so genuine. The way you sit and chat with each other and let us listen in, is so sincere. It's beautiful really. I'm also impressed with your Brother-in-law and his strength for standing up for truth. What a great family ❣️ By the way, I'm still laughing. Thank you for sharing the LOVE ❤️ Many Blessings.

I love them and while i know she is supportive of the wife's transition i hope she has given herself the room and space to grieve or process her sadness. Centering both peoples feelings and emotions is important. I am not saying they arent doing so clearly they love each other but in a society that promotes toxic positivity and suppressing certain emotions or fears....i do love the grace exemplified by both but its like i want to ask "how are you really doing" "did you grieve truthfully" "did you do therapy"...regardless i wish you both well...beautiful and graceful.

When I saw you for the first time, it was in your video “Why We Left.” A few days later I was telling my husband about your story. I will never forget that when Shay finally told you (Amanda) about his gender dysphoria, your reaction was to feel so sad that Shay had been carrying this on his own for so long. And I felt the sincerity of that-nothing like “he deceived me,” or anything about yourself-all about Shay, the person you have loved all your adult life. My husband and I were both raised Mormon and we’ve been married 35 years, together 38. I remember talking with one of my siblings about unconditional love. I said that there is nothing I could do that would cause Cameron to stop loving me. He would do absolutely everything in his power to meet me exactly where I am. If you have that, you are unbelievably fortunate, and it’s the thing I wanted for each of our 3 children, for them to find someone who loves them like that. Both of you are beautiful, inside and out, and I am sending our very best wishes for your continuing happiness.

We've now been together for 31 years and we love each other more deeply than ever. There is something special about these young and long-lived relationships where you grow up together.

Hi Scotts, I have been following you for awhile. I have enjoyed watching your family and your growth. I have mentioned before how so much of what you have said about your journey is really familiar to me. This evening I watched a couple of the older videos from when you first came out to when you had your ffs. When listening to both of you answer questions it just was really thoughtful and affirming. In a world where our journey is being used by bad faith actors for their own gain, it`s reassuring to listen to a positive message about being ourselves. I hope you all are well and extremely happy. Love Marie

I love your story! I think it's so wonderful and brave of both of you to share this with everyone on KZbin! I started watching you about 17 months ago when you left the Mormon Church. Which I sure was hard and then transition which must have been even harder. I see this as a blessing. Native Americans called this two spirits that a person has, one Male and one Female. It's to be celebrated and I think you both have this special gift! Blessing and hope you have a wonderful life together!!

@@THEMADHATTRESSCan you explain it to me then? I worked at the Ute Tribe in Northeast Utah and that is what I was told. I realize there is a lot of Diversity among different tribes. I just feel the Native Americans I have met are a lot more accepting of Gender issues.
