@@AruanDrako Criminal law is above any contract. Civil law overrules it only when the law directly prohibits a certain thing, otherwise it's up to the contract. For example, you can't force a tenant from making your flat a permanent residence, even if you put in a contract. So it's not a law problem, it's a prosecution problem.

It's kind of normal all throughout Europe not to tear buildings down needlessly, actually. Prague is also lucky that it didn't get bombed too heavily during WW2; many other historical cities in Europe, (typically, London and Berlin) were not that lucky. You can still see Prague was also affected - the Old Town Hall (yes, the one with the famous astronomical clock) is truncated on one side because it got hit during the war, and there's one 15th century church with a 20th century section, for the same reason.

Seriously, you are providing not only entertainment, you are providing a service and the municipality should support you with the tourism funds. You make the tourists to feel safe and be able to enjoy their trip, if this is not the goal of the touristic funds, tell me what it is. 1:36 It is not true. Business contracts typically include a clause that the agreement is void if one of the parties violates the law and is prosecuted. There are reparations involved as well for the ending of the contract due to criminal prosecution by anyone against one of the signatories of the contract. Keep up the good work! I am glad to see someone fighting these problems in Prague.
@Frag-ile
@Frag-ile 2 жыл бұрын
As you say though, the contract likely requires them to be prosecuted and quite possibly also found guilty. They have not been prosecuted so that clause if it indeed exists in that particular contract can't be invoked merely because a concerned citizen claims that a law is being broken, even if he can prove it. You'd have to get that prosecution process started.
@TheRootedWord
@TheRootedWord 2 жыл бұрын
@@Frag-ile Actually he said the city claimed it couldn't do anything, but it could stop the illegal activities and if there were a conviction then the contract. So for the city to say it couldn't do anything sounded like corruption.

@@TheRootedWord I did say "in Europe", but even then it would be ridiculous to claim that the US is more corrupt than Hungary or Russia. Also, I do know that not all of the former East Bloc countries are like that, especially the Baltic States.

Great video.. One SUGGESTION PLEASE!!!! I would highly recommend you do something about all the drunks hanging out outside the main train station Praha hlavní nádraží drinking alochol and harrassing pedestrians.. I spent 2 weeks in Prague last month and witnessed a fight inbetween these drunks along with them sitting on benches right when you get out and nearby bothering people... Granted there is a police officer with a dog at night by the door, during the days it is still pretty dangerous. I would love to see them cleaned up next time I visit the beautiful city. Cheers!!!

One of the most satisfactory videos and stories I have ever seen. To see all you guys do for Prague and to know that actually the "city" listens and do something about it is great and big! Would love to see official restrictions or laws against hanging "love locks" all over the city and also have the authorities take care and put a fence all around that small garden in front of that funny crooked building and officially ban tourists from stepping on the statue to take pictures because all they do is destroy the monument and the garden. Kudos to you and keep up the good work.

I'm not entirely sure because he mentions the city in the video, but railway stations and attached buildings are normally under the purview of a railway-adjacent company which rather obviously functions differently from a city planning council. The main train station in Prague was an absolute disgrace for years.
