One of the most important parts of the celebration of Holi, a Hindu holiday celebrated internationally, is the color. Revelers throw hundreds of varieties of the powder, called gulal, and most of it comes from the city of Hathras, India. We go inside Radha Kishan Color World to see how it churns out 600 pounds of gulal a day.

They missed the key point. Only rich and social media influencers wear WHITE clothes for Holi. We wear old clothes for Holi and later that cloth is used for sweeping the floor until mom decides it is no longer can be used.

Not only colors we use water as well. Holi is something to be played like a game. There is color and water fights. Water balloons and water guns are used. Each festival comes with its own menu. Gujiya (a dessert) is consumed during holi. We dance and sing almost all day. And there is religious significance as well.

Holi is about colours, powdered and liquid water mixable ones, a lot of snacks and dance. There are various traditions every 100km, like in western area of rajasthan, people line up in streets and dance while colour water is thrown from rooftops. In pushkar, they use flower scents and perfumes and petals too! In rural UP, there are groups of people who sit down with instruments and sing folk songs. Children play it like nerf wars...

@@hhggj7601 there are divisions everywhere, no one particular community is agnostic to such divisions.... And again it's not religion that divides people but people's misinterpretations of various mandates passed down throughout generations with various iterations coming into existence along the way.... And in today's day and age, caste doesn't really hold any significance in the opportunities one can encash.... After all the origins of the caste system were solely based on one's occupation..... today there's no compulsion for anyone to follow in their forefather's footsteps.

All my Non- Indian Peeps....Holi festival is not only color party all the indian festivals have deep symbolism and significance in our lives...holi also known as (Vasant-otsav) _Vasant- Spring season, Ustav- festival_ ...it derives its origins from story of Evil King Mahishasur who banned worshipping of Lord Vishnu in his kingdom..ironically his little son Named Prahlad was a Vishnu devotee....he tried to kill his son by putting him into raging fire but His sister Holika who was Given boon that fire cannot harm her..she took Prahlad into her lap and sat inside the fire but surprisingly she was burned alive because she was on the evil side...and Prahlad came out of the fire safely.. (Lord Rama, Vishnu, Krishna are the diffrent Avatars of same God) We light a fire the night before holi...to burn all our flaws and evil thoughts..sing songs n hymns...this festival also encouraged people to set aside their diffrence n come together to colour eath -other.. eat and drink delicious food Prepared on this ocassion...many people use flower petals to play holi.🙏
