Been asking big producers if they use unquantized drums for bounce and they all said no. They use hihat patterns to give them “bounce”. I come from old school hip hop so it seemed strange to me at first but I understood what they mean for trap beats.

It’s basically the feeling and the rhythm the drums give off and how they match the beat

Yo so most people don’t know this but “bounce” is a simple way of saying syncopation so if you have 4 Beats 1 2 3 4 those are all down beats syncopation is adding accent notes in between the down beats in trap you can see the syncopated notes with the 1/2 beat grid or 8th note grid if you have a 2 step hihat you have a note on the down beats but now your adding a note between the two down beats directly in the middle this is called the & If you count 1 & 2 & 3 & 4 & you can feel the up down pattern if you place a kick 808 perc hihat roll your adding bounce hope this helps
